Does anyone know what size/type needle and solution I would use?

Of course I don't plan to do it...

Very Happy

If you wanted to use hypertonic saline solution, the concentration would depend on the vessel size. It should be between 11.7 and 23%. And sclerotherapy does not work on face broken caps, only on leg broken caps.

However, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DO IT TO THEMSELVES UNLESS THEY'VE HAD EXTENSIVE TRAINING. Hypertonic saline will cause necrosis of surrounding tissues if you "miss the vein" when trying to inject yourself. So will end up with a hole (scars) and hyperpigmentation.

If you want to be adventurous and try DIY sclerotherapy (which I DO NOT recommend either) at least do it with something that has less chance of causing necrosis of surrounding tissues, like polidocanol.

I've had sclerotherapy multiple times for leg caps and it appears to me to take a fair amount of training and skill to get the needle into those tiny, tiny vessels. Considering the consequences of missing (Clint Eastwood voice) "Are you feeling lucky?" I don't know that I ever feel that lucky...

My sister has echoed those identical thoughts regarding the skill level.
