Found a link to a clinical trial for Airgent. Anyone here from Israel who feels like being a guniea pig?
http://clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT00811161

Fascinating research on the Airgent website that sheds light on what goes on under the skin after dermarolling. This device injects HA which collides with dermal cells, and the resultant wound healing remodels the collagen. Aside from the HA, which provides a temporary effect, it would seem that wound healing alone is responsible for the improvement, since no topicals are involved immediately post-procedure.

Also, treatments are 3-4 weeks apart. What else can be gleaned from this research that will improve our dermarolling results?

Call me crazy, but this sounds like injecting dermal fillers in a tiny pin prick pattern all over the face - instead of the way HA is usually injected - with a syringe to a targeted area.

BF-Girl, you're not crazy. At first glance, that might seem like the purpose of Airgent, but I think they're just using the HA as a tool...something to collide and start the wound/healing response, and since HA is widely used, and innocuous, it's not going to create any problems with side effects. The fact that it provides a temporary boost to the skin's surface doesn't appear to be what they're promoting. I think they're after the long term effect that might be seen with dermarolling.

By the way, BF-Girl, I pm'd you last week re: HA and glycerin. Did you see it?

Here's some more information:

Airgent / Skin Remodeling

Skin problems are not age dependent, be it acne scars or wrinkles. Airgent is a skin treatment that caters for both the young and old.

AirgentTM is the latest edition to the cosmetic world from PerfActionTM. This skin rejuvenation treatment uses high mass molecules that have kinetic energy (energy of a body resulting from its motion) and momentum (tendency to remain in motion unless an opposing force is applied) to encourage wound-healing and augment collagen generation.

The intensive dermal healing creates new, tighter tissue to replace skin imperfections for a long-lasting, healthy aesthetic improvement. The added bonus is that the high molecular mass agent used, absorbs water - for rapid skin thickening and visible results that can be enjoyed almost right away.

The AirgentTM system uses a powerful and precise pneumatic technology to painlessly introduce a high-molecular mass agent (usually Hyaluronic Acid) to the dermis through a miniature opening on the skin, in a simple, office procedure that takes just minutes and leaves the surrounding tissue intact.

The lateral dispersion of the agent creates a mechanical effect that augments collagen generation, stimulates growth factors and inhibits collagen breakdown. The Hyaluronic acid molecules improve the skin’s absorption and retention properties to such an extent that an aesthetic improvement is seen immediately. The triggered wound healing further promotes the formation of new collagen fibers.

AirgentTM has been clinically proven as a skin remodeling treatment. It is suitable for all skin types and areas of the body. The procedure is painless and no bruising and peeling can be seen afterwards; instead the skin appears fuller, stronger and younger than before.

AirgentTM is ideal for:

• Reducing fine wrinkles
• Revitalizing aged, dehydrated skin
• Enhancing natural features
• Lessening acne scars
• Reducing peri-orbital wrinkles
• Concealing noticeable veins
• Mini “face-lifts”

Seems like treatments that cause a wounding/inflammation of the dermis are becoming more and more popular.
