Anybody with light eyes using Lumigan?

the generic Lumigan for lashes?

No, but my eyes are not light, they are brown-green-hazel. I am afraid that I would loose the mix of colors in my eyes and go all brown.

I have blue eyes and I'm using it.

Per the information I've read on the Lumigan thread and in links provided there, the potential small risk of eye color changing does not apply to blue eyes - it applies to those who have some brown in their eyecolor - the melanin component is what could react to increase/deepen a shade of brown that is already present in the iris.

I have blue-green eyes with a gold/amber ring around the pupil so i guess that applies to me Sad

I have read the same thing. I have green eyes and I've been using Lumigan for about 7 months now. The warnings are mainly for people who are using Lumigan in their eyes everyday for glaucoma. I know a very tiny amount may get it my eyes while lining them but it's such a small amount compared to the people who are actually putting Lumigan drops in their eyes that it just does not concern me. We are using Lumigan off use. If doctors and the FDA were so concerned about the risk of eye color change they never would have approved Latisse for eyelash growth. Lumigan is the same thing as Latisse.

I am having no problems or side effects whatsoever with Latisse/Lumigan so far. I'm now into my 5th week of daily use and my lashes are filling in and are quite noticeably much longer already.

I apply like eyeliner each morning - both to upper & lower lashlines. (I squeeze one droplet inside the cap, and use a fine point liner brush to apply.)

I've never used Rapidlash but I actually have a recently purchased tube on hand as I thought when my bottle of Latisse runs out I'll try Rapidlash to see how it works for me.

I'm loving it!! My lashes maxed out at eight weeks and I actually had to trim them they were getting too long. After that I slowed my application down to once or twice a week at night and this is enough to keep my longer lush lashes at the length I like them the best. If I apply the Lumigan more often my lashes grow to fast and too long. I don't know how others are using it after they achieve their maximum results but this is what I do.

Thanks for the info on blue eyes. That is the first I've heard that.
I do not understand the terrific fear some have about the eye color change - as I understand it it applies to people who put the drops directly into the eye on a daily basis - first of all - it's considerably more product and with a direct application to the eyeball. The small bit placed along the outside of the lashline is hardly comparable.

but anyway, nice to know my blue eyes cannot be affected. Very Happy

That's good to know about the once or twice a week maintenance.

QUESTION: did you see a thickening of lashes? Mine are on the sparse side and it would be nice to have a fringe of them instead of just long, kind of sparse lashes...

Where do you get Lumigan?

I have crystal blue eyes and would hate to have them turn muddy! The color change I understand is permanent, so the fear is real. So far I haven't seen any color change after 15 weeks, but if I notice any I will certainly stop immediately. I'd rather have clear blue eyes and stubby lashes than muddy splotchy irises.

I did read the info that the color change only applies to the brown pigment, but I do have a gold spot in one iris that I am keeping an EYE on for any change!

there's one gal on another forum that has to take the drops for glaucoma i think and had beautiful blue eyes but now they do have icky yellowy brown splotches that are irreversible. But it's a necessity for her

I think I read some where that only 1-2% of Lumigan users actually have this happen....

Has anyone seen, or does anyone have pictures of this eye color change?

I have been using Lumigan for a month and am pleased to see my lashes lengthen. I also have light green eyes and would actually LOVE them to darken.

I have searched the internet trying to find pics or testimonials of iris change and haven't found any! So please share them if you find some.

I have light blue-green eyes. I don't want to even try this product. I am very curious though about the effect on lashes people have using this product. Can someone post the link with before and after pichtures, please.

How is everyone buying Lumigan without prescription? All Day Chemists asks for prescription too.

My eyes are blue green with a hint of amber or light brown right around the pupil. I'm not sure if this puts me at risk or not. What do you all think?

I see my optometrist at the end of this month and plan to ask her about the safety of Lumigan. If she tells me there's a good chance for iris color change, I'll just use my Rapidlash. I've been using it on and off without problems, and I saw a lady's results on here with her eyebrows that looked promising.

No miracle product is without its downsides. Accutane has nasty side effects, Lumigan's the same. Even Minoxidil has its risks. As my derm said when offering me options to treat my mild acne, "Pick your poison." That was sobering. Shock

My individual lashes did not thicken but because I grew so many new lashes my entire lash line is thicker with more lashes. My lashline is much more lush looking.

I bought my Lumigan at alldaychemist.com

You do not need a prescription. When you get to the page that asks for your doctor info etc you just skip all that. Just fill in the basics like your name and address then hit submit and the site will let you finish your transaction.

I have blue-grey eyes and try to be very careful with Lumigan. One drop has fell on my inner low eyelid a few times, and now I have a very tiny dark spot which does not go away. Sad

So now I'm extremely careful. Less is better! Luckily, no change in the color of my eyes.

I have the same problem, lashes are long but sparse and perk. So I alternate Lumigan with Ardell Growth Accelerator. Seems to help a bit.

I apologize, I should not leave comments when I'm in too much of a hurry to explain them.

Here is my point - an earlier poster made a comment along the lines that the drug would not have been approved if there were certain side effects.

We know that govt. approval is not always indicative of product safety and is an imperfect process at best. The most well known example I can think of is Celebrex, a drug known to double and by some accounts, triple, the patient's the risk of heart attack and stroke.

I also recall that Fenfluramine was withdrawn only after it was shown to promote heart disease.

So - speaking for myself, I do not rely 100% on public agencies to protect me from the risks associated with using certain drugs. I
