The first time I ordered PSF mud mask, the texture was very smooth.

Just reordered and received 2 more this week and I notice the texture is grainier. It's not a bad thing necessarily, still feels and works as great as the first batch but for a mud pack I think I preferred the smoother. Has anyone else noticed this?

i recently started a thread:

http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?tid=24204

as I found PSF's acne mud mask really different to my initial jar. I didnt order from PSF direct so I havent emailed them about it and also it seems to be just as effective so I didnt bother.

I too prefered it when it was less grainy--wonder what those grains are?

yeahyeah, I emailed PSF and this is their response:

"The formula for the Acne Treatment Mud is the same. Since it is an all-natural product, there may be slight variations from one batch to another due to the nature of the raw materials. I will pass your email along to our formulations team to make them aware of it. Thank you for your feedback."

That actually makes sense, but I hope the next batch is nice and smooth; somehow the smoother texture seems to stretch further and work better as an overnight spot treatment.

hi athena

thanks for sharing the psf response!

Even though its a natural product, i didnt really expect it to be SO different and even the smell is different. At first i thought the product went off, because it looked like mould Embarassed

Me too, I prefer the smoother texture. Although with the new batch, its easier to apply, I too find it to not last as long as the old batch.

I have just recieved another PSF acne mud mask as I always like to have one spare...and it was VERY different looking. Water was leaking out of the white jar and the mask was a ball of mud floating on water.

Has anyone elses mask look like this too???

Im considering emailing PSF to ask but if everyone else's is like this too then it must be ok Confused

yeahyeah, I would certainly email customer service, they're extremely responsive and will be able to tell you if this is expected or not.

Hi athena

I've emailed PSF and they said that the formula hasnt changed, this is the email I got:

"Thank you for your email. The formula of the masque has not changed,
although some of the raw materials have been sourced from a new
supplier.
Your description of the texture leads me to believe that there is
something wrong with your product. Please reply with your full name &
shipping information and we will send you a replacement. My apologies
for
the inconvenince. Thank you for choosing Pure Skin Formulations and for
being a valued customer.
Best regards,"

But I feel kinda bad for complaining and asking for the replacement cos I dont live in the US, so I didnt tell them my address.

As much as I loved the mud mask, I am finding that my skin doesnt really need it now and it doesnt seem to zap away the pimples as effective as when I first used it.

You are right athena, PSF CS are very resposive. I wasnt expecting a reply on Sunday.

I should be recieving the replacement mask, as I cannot use the mask I have just ordered.

I'm impressed they offered to send you another one, very cool! I love these guys! Very Happy

Before I started using PSF pumpkin enzyme peel, I found it was necessary to use this twice a week. As it is, I only need to use it once a week for deep cleansing and pore tightening and it's still on of my most effective spot treatments during my moon times. I've also been using silken pearl pate as a spot treatment as well, at least that's something I can use during the day!
