I have come to the conclusion, and now that I'm very close to 50 I can have conclusions , that complicated skin care lines are dubious at best.
The methodology, regimes and "intersting" science behind these lines serve to entertain us as we spend spend spend..
Waait times in between applications, alternateing days, the "don'ts" mix and match. AND when results aren't forthcomming or a negative reaction occurs it is the clients fault- "you did something wrong"
Hey, I like a good ritual as everyone else. I too get suckered into believing that some esoteric skin practice will hold the years at bay. I have spent my money willingly to inflict myself with dermatitis, rashes, etc.
I think the more complicated the line and it's instructions serves only to distract clients from finding out- it just isn't working! |

I totally could understand...A lot of brands just use some strategies to advertise their products. They tell beautiful stories and describe their stuff in a mystic way, in order to attract customers to buy and practice... But after we look at the ingredients, we find nothing special. And if customers say this is not effective, they tell her to buy other products of their line to make it work...
Now I just try to use products as gentle as possible, at the same time they must have clear-cut ingredients. Some ingredients will have negative reaction, such as retin-A, but it is much better since I know it in advance. |

| Same as Carmina, I use the gentle products, and must have clear-cut ingredients. I normally need to have a clear picture on the product before I use it. |

I gave up on all the fancy skin care lines years ago - I think they're all about marketing hype. If I hear about a new active ingredient that sounds promising, then I just purchase it from a DIY supplier and mix up some sort of concoction myself. Nevertheless, the only anti-aging skin care product that has any kind of scientific kudos is Retin-A.
My ever increasing array of skin care gadgets, however, are another story entirely! |
