Hi All,
We talk so much about the importance of sunscreen. I have a question:
What level of SPF due to think is essential to prevent premature againg and sun damage?
IS SPF 15 really effective or should we go higher?

| I use a 15 everyday. When I go to the beach or know I am going to be out for an extended period of time I wear a 30 SPF. However, I have a light olive completion and do not burn easily. |

 Those pictures show us what the sun does. Think I will use 30 SPF more. Now, talk about a handome man. I don't care if Robert Redford has wrinkles. He still is VERY NICE.  |

| Spf 15 blocks 97% and spf 30 blocks the remaining 3%? Is that right? Anyhow, the difference between 15 and 30 is quite small, a few percentage points. More important to concentrate on longevity of the ingredients in the formulas (the stability that is mentioned often here). My personal favorite is Coppertone Faces Oil-Free spf 30. Not too greasy and stable ingredients. I think board members in Australia and Europe are luckier and have access to much better sunscreens. |

| I use SPF 45 from head to toe daily. Also, I will not purchase a sunscreen unless its Active Ingredients are Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide (both Physical sunscreen ingredients), or Avobenzone ("Parsol 1789"), which is a chemical sunscreen. They have have their pros & cons ... but consider the alternative. lol |

SPF15 means that the user can remain in the sun 15 times longer than would otherwise cause them to burn. In real life the protection from a particular sunscreen depends on the sensitivity to the user and the amount applied. It is recommended that the sunscreen be applied 30 minutes before exposure to sun. Do not use anyting lower than SPF15. If you know you're going outdoors and be exposed to direct sunlight for a while then use SPF30 or higher.
