I just came across this video on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhXjgisjNmI
It's very interesting to try and see if your minerals are of decent quality and protecting your face.
I tried it for my everyday minerals it did hold up the foundation did sit ontop of the water but after 5 mins or so it started to sink and i mixed a spoon in and the water turned cloudy!!
I also tried on Everyday Minerals Natural Reflections and these were the true results. They sat ontop of the water and didnt sink when i mixed it up the minerals just swirled around and floated back to the top!!
So its a good tester please post your results and mineral brand so we all know whats good and not
thanks! |

I didnt watch the video but just wanted to comment that you should never rely on MMU or any makeup for protection from the sun. You would need to apply it like a mask to get full SPF protection.
You should apply 1/4 teaspoon of SS for proper protection. |

I agree. I do wear mineral makeup but I wear a proper photostable sunscreen/moisturizer under it.
I would not rely on Utube as an informative source of information. |

Completely agree.
a. mineral makeup is not a substitution for sunscreen and I don't believe they claim to either
b. my mineral makeup is too expensive to be mixing in water by teaspoons. Sorry, won't be trying that test |

Is that working? I mean sunscreen under the make up foundation of any kind? I am not very familiar with this matter, so I am never sure what kind of protection I have.
If make up is without SPF, can I count on protection under it?
If make up is with lower SPF than underneath moisturiser - which one working? |

I dont use just minerals for the SPF protection but it is for the added protection. And you don't need that much minerals for a test. just a tap of it not a teaspoon thats way too much!
I have no idea what the guy uses but it looks very impressive. It was a test to see if the mineral makeup is also absorbed into your skin or just sits on on top. Judging from Alima it looks like your skin will absorb the minerals which isn't good! Minerals are supposed sit ontop of the skin! |
