Thanks Toby and Havana - I used some moisturizer I had left over that I had been using on my hands - guess that works! I bought some Carrot cleanser from NCN which is more on the 'rich' side so that will be for tonight.

sister sweets,

I like to use oils or the cream that I mix: base cream with SKB, Liquid Oat Beta-Glucans from GoW and a few drops of essential oils.

I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of thank yous to critic. You have been very generous with your time and knowledge. Thank you!! I started using Tua Trend a few weeks ago and added Zogan about a week ago. That means my face experiment is not a very scientific one, with no control group it is hard to say where my results are coming from. One good thing that has happened that I pretty sure is from the massage is that my nose has slimmed in a good way. I've always had a sort of puffiness alongside the bridge. It never occurred to me that this could be removed, and is definitely not something I was looking for, but my eye is drawn to this positive change when I look in the mirror. The other thing is that I've had a couple people tell me that I've gained weight and it looks good. I am on the thin side, and have actually not gained an ounce. They are clearly just making that assumption based on the fact that my face looks filled out. It does to me, also. I'm very happy about that! I love doing this massage in the morning. Any puffiness I awake with disappears shortly after I have finished it. Again...thanks so much, critic. I am so grateful to you!

Besides my nose, I am very happy with my features. Bullies and mean girls laughed at my nose when I was in hi-school (or because I was wearing eye-glasses so my nose looked more worse, and know nothing about skincare and have blackheads all over that we called "Strawberry nose").

In my other thread, I have mentioned that facial exercise made my nose even uglier than before, which I really can't accept. I won't say the Tanaka massage can slim the nose, but perhaps I am massaging it everyone so it certainly will look cleaner, and getting the puffiness away.

I am doing 10 repetitions for the nose. The bone exercise program that I got has 2 exercises for the nose. One is targeting for nose bridge, another one is to slim the nose, make it smaller. I only do them once a while, so can't judge if it can deliver the result.

You know what. besides surgery, I actually don't believe there is anything can make the nose smaller.

The magic of the massage is, it will make people think you have gained weight which is what you want, and it makes people think I have lost weight, which is what I want. Very interesting!

Critic,

I also can not thank you enough for bringing that fantastic massage and technique to our attention.

And additionally thank you again for being so generous with your time, patience and sharing your picture to inspire us!

My mom had seen me today without any makeup (no makeup is a very rare occurrence for me), and she told me that my entire face looks fresher and the under eye bags had lessened. The double chin is still with me in full force though. I do not yet see the difference, but I trust my mom (a friend in the office made a similar comment on Friday, but I assumed she just tried to cheer me up). I can only attribute that to the Tanaka massage.

Critic - a million THANKS to you!

I still don't understand what exactly you're all on about. You mean you're just pressing your face with two fingertips and that's it -- you're getting wonders?
Strange. I prefer Ageless.

It's not quite as simple as pressing with two fingertips -- it's about pressure and movement, as I understand it. You can do both facial exercise and the Tanaka, Vor. They are complementary.

Vor you should look at some of the links that are posted that demonstrate the Tanaka massage - this will show you what we are talking about. And yes, this is very complimentary to facial exercise - wonderfully so. Highly recommend.

Critic, revenge is a dish best served cold.
I hope these past bullies can get to see you now - how envious they will be; you don't just look young, every part of your face looks beautiful.

judging by your photos - he is not liar Smile

We had such a infernal crowd in office last week, worked at Sunday also (because of the end of the year) and yesterday about 5 p.m. when everybody were really tired, one of my male colleagues told me: "You are the only looked so fresh!"
God ...I was in heaven Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy. Of course not because of him, but because somebody noticed. I really look better.

Well, your hubby's friends and colleagues must be very jealous of him having a wife who's getting prettier and younger! (You better ask him to do the massage as well or you will probably look like his daughter after a few years or so... lol)

I must be the only one thinking this question, as it still goes unanswered but if you build bone, can you reverse it?

For example in facial exercises sometimes the muscles build, and we're told that if you stop doing the muscles revert back to their former state. If you build bone though, isn't bone a hard surface that is solid in comparison with muscles. So if you overbuild with bone, how does one reverse it.

I think this is very important question to ask before anyone starts bone exercises no matter what their nationality. Critic can you answer for us please?

Not Critic, but as I have osteoporosis running in my family, I have gained a small amount of knowledge on bones which may help answer your question.

First as an adult, it is hard to 'build up' bones.
Our bone mass lessens as we age. There are two things we can do to help avoid this; taking care of what we eat (less acid, more alkali in our diet) and weight-bearing exercises (ie weight training).
It can be easier for some (myself included) to overbuild our facial muscles, which can be reversed by stopping or changing the facial exercises. The chances of you over-building your facial bones are next to none. As I'm no expert in Bone Massage, I cannot say for sure that BM cannot build up your facial bone structure but common sense tells me that this process would be a relatively slow one so before you ever got to the point of disturbing bone build-up, you would obviously stop.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Bone Massage about maintaining (perhaps restoring?) your youthful bone density rather than changing it?

ps Let me know if you're interested in acid/alkali in our diet and how it affects our bones.

Miranda, due to a sickness I have been on an alkaline diet too. I think as many of us are interested in this you should start a new thread.
That would be great!

hello all you beautiful people,

for some enthusiastic members that are confused, this is the tanaka massage. it is not the bone exercise/massage thread. i know it is confusing because this branched out from the original thread, "Anyone has heard of Bone facial exercise?". the original thread was huge and was a beautiful collage of everyone's input. once things were more established, for more clarity, critic took the time out to establish two separate threads (tanaka massage, and japanese bone exercise).

i believe to get a better understanding if this massage or the japanese bone exercise is suited for you, or if it is something that you're even interested in, i recommend going to the original thread, "Anyone has heard of Bone facial exercise?" and reading all the comments, input of the members, and viewing the links. i, myself, had to read it several times before i got the gist of it. and even now, i still go back to the original thread to see if i missed anything. the original thread is quite extraordinary and i'm sure it will illuminate some of the misunderstandings/confusion.

yes, it can get confusing but that's why we can all go at our own pace. i want to thank all the members on this thread and the japanese bone exercise thread for helping late comers like myself. they post helpful steps, organize the overall scheme, and are ever ready to assist those that need some feedback. these members all do this with their own time and energy, as they don't financially benefit in anyway. i myself am doing this all free, from these threads and the linked web video. thank you! and thank you critic. i think these threads have the most kind, helpful, and patient members! thank you so much!

no doubt! i've never seen your pictures, but i'm sure you're beautiful. how long have you been doing this? i've only been doing it for hmm.. maybe a week, but i can already see the difference in my complexion. i've been doing this tanaka massage and using valmont, every night, and i'm certain my skin has improved. the valmont has really helped with the irritated dry skin, but this tanaka massage has helped my complextion immensely. my skin looks younger, healthier, and rosy! i really love it. after a long day at work, i'm so excited to get home and do my beauty regime (tanaka massage, and every other night the bone exercise). thanks critic!

Hi Zenity, sorry to hear you haven't been well.
I will begin a new thread on Skincare Tools & Do It Yourself Skincare (best place for it?) called Anti-Ageing; Acid Alkali pH balance. Will probably do it sometime tomorrow.

Hello 'This is Miranda' - I'd like to read what you have to say about Ph in the diet. I am an advocate of this - drinking lemon water every morning and throughout the day at times as well as trying to eat many alkalinizing foods.

It might actually be a good thread for the skincare forum as it has been found to be a helpful adjunct to a positive skincare regime. Many of us are focused on nutrition for skin.

I think the separate thread for that conversation topic alone is a great idea, and can share some thoughts/discoveries I have found using acid/alkaline, as it can effect facial muscles particularly if your doing any sort of facial exercise program (so its not just geared towards FlexEffect).

I found out myself about this two years ago, and have been keeping a watchful eye since, and there is so much data out there that its truly a health wonder tool that has the lovely side effect of being an antiaging tool for sure that deserves its own recognition.

I also would love to see a separate thread on the subject.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi, Critic:

Thanks so much for bringing this wonderful massage method to our attention, I looked the video and really like it, I think I am going to do this exercise now , hopefully it will get rid of my big smiley line soon.

But I have a question, do you put on any oil on your face before massage? the video did not mention it but the model's face looks oily..

Again, thanks a lot for taking time to share with us.

Oil or massage cream is necessary, don't even try to apply massage without it - you skin will be irritated and red.
Take your time to read everything and to watch video before starting.

I have followed the akaline diet for 9-months, so I have 95% skipped fruit, as it is also recommended in TCM not to eat non-seasonable fruit. But it is hard for Chinese to get protein if I don't eat meat, though I eat very little meat.
