Hi, I'm a new poster on here.
For many years I've suffered with a bad complexion--dry and very flakey and yet easily broken out with acne. Sad I'll try to keep this ultra summarized but basically, vigorously scrubbing with a washcloth and Cetephil cream isn't cutting it. It never has and I've just had to walk around with uncovered nasty skin almost always because foundation or concealer usually just made it look worse. BUT! After reading on here some, I've become hopeful that there is likely something much better to help my complexion and also help mask and slow down the wrinkles that are forming and deepening.

I've already had a bit of improvement at least with my complexion this last 2 weeks after starting to use Alpha Hydrox lotion and some jojoba oil. I was so afraid of oils before! Glad to know that jojoba seems to be ok!

I would like to get some recommendations for products/protocols from you guys. I have tried differin gel in the past(still have half a tube left)but oh how awfully did it dry my skin out! But after reading on here it seems that there are ways to be careful to avoid that so maybe I should try that again?

I am resignated that my skincare regimen is going to cost more than I'm use to, but I want it to be a good investment...meaning not paying extra just for pretty packaging and a name-brand. If you need anymore information from me before recommending, just ask! Thank you in advance...this means a lot to me! ~Michelle

welcome miche!
i'm sure you're going to love it here at EDS.

i don't have the same skin type as you but wanted to let you know that there are some awesome threads that will address your concerns.

sometimes when i need more info and there aren't any members around to help, i do different search functions...

1) on the forum, at the top, there is the search funtion... just click and type in the query.

2) on the shopping section of EDS, attached to a company line or certain product there is a function that leads you to it review thread. just click on the company or product, and look for the "forum review" feature.

hope this helps! and good luck on your search.
