I really need to share this! I am a very fit 45 yo woman who's been struggling with cellulite since my early twenties. By cellulite, I don't mean a few dimples here and there, but heavy cellulite all over my thighs and buttocks. I spent the last 20 years trying to get rid of it by drinking plenty of water, eating right, dieting, exercising, exfoliating -and I even gave a couple of creams/lotions a try.
A couple of weeks ago my acupunctrist used vaccuum cupping on my back (not for cellulite -just for back pain . She commented cupping could help me improve my circulatory system, and eventually reduce my cellulite, and told me where I could buy a good quality set for around 30$.
I started using my vaccuum cupping set daily It is pretty straigth forward: you insert a plastic cup on a small plastic hand pump, you pump one stroke, then you "glide" the plastic cup over your skin to achieve something similar to a deep tissue massage. A neutral massage oil applied on skin helps the cup glide better. You'll find a couple of videos on Youtube that will show you how to do it. I do the cupping for about 20 minutes on each leg (until the skin becomes reddish). Careful, if you leave the cup too long on one spot (or if you pump to vigorously), you might end up with a couple of small bruises.
Results so far are exciting: I'd say my cellulite is 25-30% less visible in just 2 weeks. I still can't believe how effective it is. Can't wait to see the results after a full month.
This is my story. I think the roots of cellulite differ from on individual to another -sometimes it is related to lifestyle, or genes, or else- so it is logical to think that a given treatment will work wonders for some, not all. That being said, I really encourage you to try this approach. It's cheap. And it is working for me. I don't know about side effects or risks so I suggest you discuss this with your doctor or natural health specialist, just in case. The idea is to get rid of the cellulite in a safe, healthy way!
Cheers |

hi mimi
i just want to say that i never had much cellulite, but cupped in my quest for perfection...not only did cupping not help (aside from the initial circulation/plumping) but I honestly feel like it gave me cellulite -- not bad, but for sure more than before and in places i didn't have it...like my lower thighs and arms... i wouldn't risk cupping on my body again -- i did try the no lipo-lipo - now THAT is something!!
ps. i spent a litte time in queretero...beautiful city |

Hi Mimi,
Thanks for sharing your success story!
I had 2 Synergie treatments in January and realized it's nothing more than cupping massage, but they use a bodysuit instead of oil (Maybe there is more to it, but I couldn't see/feel a difference between Synergie and cupping...) I had already purchased the NV-600 but hadn't been consistent enough with it, so the Synergie treatments convinced me to give it another try.
How often do you perform the cupping on your thighs? And what cupping system do you use? Could you post the YouTube links that show how to do it? I'm afraid I may have been doing it all wrong...
Thank you! |

Did you have success with No Lipo Lipo? I just got it and performed two treatments on myself... I find it very difficult to use my knuckles (and press hard enough) on the back of my thighs... |

I have slacked off on No Lipo Lipo and am so disappointed in myself. I am determined to start it up again b/c I do believe I saw results when I was doing it regularly. Even though NLL is not what this thread is about, thanks for bringing up the issue of cellulite...it serves as inspiration for me to get back to NLL. |

Hi Fitgineer - I try to do the cupping daily but I'd day I've been doing it 5 to 6 times a week for the last two weeks. I own a kangzhu cupping set. I am not including any specific links because I don't want to endorse any websites that sell stuff. Just Google "kanghzu" and you'll see what the kit looks like. If you have a chinese neighbour in your city, you might find a vaccuum cupping set for 20-35$.
I have never tried the Synergie treatments and have no clue what the NV-600 is but I'll make sure to Google it. Keep us posted about the results (I will). |

I love Queretaro but now I am back in beautiful Montreal (maybe I should change my nickname!) Thanks for sharing you past experience with cupping, I will be careful and monitor closely my results. If I have the slightest indication my cellulite is getting worse, I'll stop immediately. Just a question: how long have you been doing the cupping treatment? Did you see improvements first prior to the worsening of your cellulite (you say something about "initial" plumping).
I have never tried the no-lipo lipo but will check it out for sure. |

FITGINEER....I am having success w/ no lipo lipo-- personally, i think it's ALOT of work, but i am getting results and that's my incentive. just do the best you can on the back of your thighs-- i clasp my fingers and use my thumb knuckles for my hamstrings...something is better than nothing.
Mimi - i think i cupped for about 2 - 3 weeks. right after i cupped, my legs looked good - the results of increased circualtion, but then i started noticing a cellulity look.... i did not bother to push thru it, i felt that maybe i was upsetting some structural integrity by suctioning the skin in a way that maybe it wasn't meant to be.... stopped using the vacculifter too.... got a little wigged on the suction thing...
ps.
I LOVE Montreal!!! Married to a Montrealan for 11 years (was in queretero w/ him).
good luck with all of this |

I tried NLL. Its ok, didn't work miracles on me, I still do it, just not that much. In its defense this is a clear case of user error on my part. I'm not strong enough in my upper body to make a difference. If there was a tool that would simulate knuckles except pointier it would probably help me. |

This may be crazy, but I'm using my Dirt Devil to "vacuum" suction my cellulite-ridden thighs. I apply oil, then "vacuum" my thighs 5 min. per leg. I do this 3 times a week. I haven't been doing it long enough to know whether or not I'm helping or possibly hurting myself.
I'm desperate (apparently). I exercise regularly and have for DECADES. I am underweight. What do you think? |

i HATE cellulite! I am not fat by any means...but i've been battling cellulite since my late teens! I've tried tons of creams, dry brushing, drinking plenty of water...i exercise on a regular basis (probably more than most people) but still have the case of dimply butt/thighs. I am seriously considering liposuction to get rid of this problem. |

BCgirl, I've heard liposuction will not help cellulite.
You sound like me. I've done and continue to do all the things you mentioned. It's so, so frustrating. |

Mars,
I actually watched that show and it was astonishing how fast the cellulite was gone, and such a quick recovery. The doc has been at it for 2 years as I recall and never had to do a repeat on any patients! |

Hi mimi,
Have you purchased this cupping set somewhere online? If so, can you post the link?
I've recently tried Endermologie for cellulite and loved it! It's amazing what a single treatment can accomplish! Since it's also a suction based technique, I wonder if home cupping session can produce a similar result... |

Cupping does help. I'm another skinny girl with an active lifestyle with a cellulite ridden backside. I have a rubber glass, works well. I do have microcurrent done, if its within your budget, go for it because it works wonders. But get yourself a rubber glass anyway, keep it in the shower. Maximum results with the least amount of time. |

Hi, I know you think I'm nuts using my Dirt Devil on my thighs, but with all the talk about suction for cellulite, do you think I'm over-doing it? I mean, it is a little vacuum cleaning after all. I REALLY don't want to be doing more damage to myself. Any opinions on this? |

Can you please tell us more about this treatment?
I tried gooleing this but most of the hits referred to microcurrent treatments for face skin firming...
Does this treatment have some specific name?
TIA |

They don't call it anything different, its the same treatment as for the face but stronger. They use the same machine. |

There is something almost everybody has that is a very powerfull vaccum machine.I always use my intensity regulater vacuum cleaner with very goos results. What I do it´s put on some collants and use it with circular mooves in the areas needed. is almost as good as the LPG, the only downside is that it´s noisy |

Ladies - something miraculous happened last night. I just started doing the knuckle massage - just by watching the youtube video - and hope I am doing it right. It's been three days and weirdly enough I see an improvement but that is not the shocking thing. Have you ever pressed with your fingers and run your hand up your thigh and you can feel those awful cellulite bumps and valleys. Well I was doing that and then did the knuckle massage right in an area where I felt it the most and after 120 strokes I swear to you it was smooth. Today it is still smooth. This was on the top of my thigh where it is not noticeable to the eye. I am hoping now that it will work on the looser area of the inner thigh where it is noticeable. So far it is improving but not as drastically. |

Are you still doing this and have you seen any improvements at all using the Dirt Devil..lol? I never really did it. I tried it once a year ago and said.. m...maybe i am crazy, and they did this post/thread to see if others were silly enough (daring enough, lol) to try.
SOOOOo any results? I can't imagine why not...I just look at my loose and wrinkled and cottage cheese legs and mourn their youth...BOO HOO..lol
