I was looking for a goat's milk cleanser and happened on the website of Nutra-Lift Skin Care. They tout their products as natural and organic. I've ordered their cleanser, but while I was there, I took a look at their other products and couldn't resist - Rolling Eyes - their One Step product. It is supposed to be an all-inclusive product. In fact, the description says:

Quote:
Nutra-Lift® One Step is a complex skin care product that contains every natural ingredient known to man that helps improve the quality of the skin. In fact it is practically an entire health food store in one bottle. The ingredients are all synergistically blended for maximum results and protected with liposome technology to guarantee the effectiveness of the nutrients for up to two years. These include the exclusive Vitamin C complex 5 (Vitamin C Ester, tetrahexydecyl ascorbate, L-Ascorbic liposome, ascorbyl glucoseamine) guaranteed to penetrate the skin and produce maximum results. In addition you get broad spectrum anti-oxidant protection and the ultimate in natural skin firming and lifting.

The ingredients are many (maybe too many):

Quote:
Deionized water, lactobacillus/algae extract ferment 5, vitamin C ester complex, tetrahexydecyl ascorbate, ascorbyl glucosamine, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, calcium ascorbate, L-ascorbic acid, polyglyceryl- 10 pentastearate & behenyl ,sodium stearoyl lactylate, marine collagen, sodium pca, marine elastin, natural cetyl esters, broad spectrum anti-oxidant complex 14 (rosemary*, rose hips*, oregano*, sage*, olive leaf*, green tea*), herbal complex 30 (chamomile*, red clover*, ginger*, tumeric*, comfrey*), fruit flower complex 12 (calendula*, jasmine*, rose hip*, lavender*, carrot*), lecithin, DMAE, alpha- lipoic acid, astaxanthin, lecithin, grape seed extract, COQ-10, natural mixed tocopherols (vitamin E), vegetable glyceryl stearate, oat amino acids, organic royal jelly, time released vitamins (A palmitate, B1, B5, B6, B12, F, & K), hyaluronic acid, mixed flavonoids, msm, xantium gum, potassium cetyl phostate, natural allantion, food grade polysorbate-20, food grade sodium benzoate, natural mint/ orange extract. Active SPF Ingredients: (for UVA & UVB protection) titanium dioxide (food grade), parsol mex & benzophenone-3. *Certified Organically Grown Ingredient

What do you think about the combination of all these ingredients?

Truthinaging has reviewed several of the Nutra-Lift products, one of which is the Rejuvenating Therapy which includes both vitamin c ester and copper peptides (it has a long ingredient list, too). When someone questioned that combination, Marta sent an email to the company which responded that:

Quote:
For anti- aging purpose it is quite good to use vitamin C with copper peptides together since they both stimulate collagen production

the confusion about the combination come from this simple fact:

Copper may act to stimulate melanin synthesis, and aid in the tanning process, Where as
Vitamin C is widely know as an anti-oxidant, helps to stimulate collagen production (wound healing) and as an ingredient to inhibit tyrosinase activity (simulate whitening).

From my comments above it may be counter productive to use copper at the same time you using Vitamin C if you are trying to simulate the tanning process (as copper will stimulate tanning, while Vitamin C will inhibit tanning, because of it lighting effect on the skin.

So, in addition to wondering what you all think about the ingredient list for the One Step, I wonder what your take is on the statement made by the company concerning vitamin c and copper peptides.
