Can we share our musical tastes - have you a special piece of music or song and why? Let's share songs.
Mine is :
Gloria
By
Laura Branigan

Because - the music came out when I met Simon - so it became "our tune" and we didn't have a lot cash when we met and Simon bought me the 12" of which we played to death.
If we hear it now - we both say together - "our tune".

Hi PQ,
What an interesting and fun topic!
My absolute and all-time favorite:
"Time For Me To Fly" By: REO Speedwagon
I listened to this song -- back in the '80's --during a difficult break-up with my high school boyfriend and I found it to be quite EMPOWERING. It was definitely time for me to move on with my life. Since then, that particular song has remained near and dear to my heart. I still love it to this day!
P.S. Love reading your posts! |

I can't say that. So much good music I have in my mind when I start to think.
Music kind of - Pink Floyd as first, Dire Straits, U2, Rolling Stones and I don't have to go on. You know what I mean. All kind of music which need to be driven with a convoy of trucks from town to town When you heard it on the radio you will know it is my favourite song |

I love all of it!
But a bit of Rolling Stones gets me moving.

Cool thread, Phillip!
I couldn't find a youtube link, but I did find this at lala:

Poor Miss is a song in the public domain, but I've always loved Big Head Todd and the Monsters' interpretation. It's kinda silly but it's sentimental to me because Todd Park Mohr reminded me of my beautiful bf(at that time). |

Ok... GLORIA is one of my all time favorites... Takes me right to the roller rink... skating backwards as fast as I can....
Although, when reading the title of this thread... the piece that jumps into my head immediately is Clair De Lune. I'm a pianist. Well, I say that. My piano, MY BABY, lives at my mother's house. I have a digi, that I've drug around with me year after year, and play very little. So, I'm sooooooooooo rusty, that chop sticks is bound to give me hell!
HOWEVER, I've been working on Claire De Lune for YEARS! It's so beautiful, and challenging. I will have it down someday. Well, hopefully before the arthritis takes over...LOL!
Here's a pretty version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvFH_6DNRCY&feature=related |
