I know some of us are mixing things into our routines which is great, and I've never hidden the fact that I was originally trained in massage techniques including some accupressure, but recently I came across a dvd that I though worthwhile sharing.
In the past, many have liked the Accupressure Face Lift which is a great dvd (http://www.acupressurefacelift.com) but there is another site I have found with a good (if not better) dvd by a Grand Master and after viewing the dvd its simple to follow, its informative and its also very relaxing and energising.
Its available at:
http://www.rejuvenationcenters.org/index.html
There is also a free book on the site that you can get, and there is a dvd (thats relatively cheap) by a Grand Master at 50 years of age on the dvd.
Not that I believe it can replace facial exercises, but its good in conjunction with FE for sure. Dvd is really easy to follow and I am really impressed by it.
Know some people loved the Accupressure Facelift and figured it worth sharing information about this one too.

Hi Sean,
This system looks quite interesting-- I also wonder how it compares to the Tanaka/ Zogan massage.
One thing I find appealing about the Tanaka/ Zogan massage is how quickly it can be accomplished. How long does it take to do the TYR system?

Well its probably something you can do in conjunction with the massage your doing, but its not a massage system, its accupressure points, your placing your fingers on and stimulating.
The dvd is quite in depth, and so the whole thing would take a while, but there are tips throughout on how to customise it for yourself, depending on the problem areas etc. |

Thanks, SeanySeanUK, for the recommendation. The free e-book on the site is worth reading. I think I'm going to get the DVD. I posted this on the other thread but I wanted to post it here too. In the book, Tian Yong says "when massaging the skin, a creme or lotion that is slippery is essential, otherwise, the massage will stretch the skin and cause it to sag." I know there's been some concern about stretching the skin with massage. |

Hi Sean this looks interesting!
How do you think it compares to other things?
Is anyone else having problems with the pdf booklet? For some reason when I downloaded it it was completely blank. I'm soo not a tech-head, I probably haven't got the most recent something or other... |

I don't think its beneficial to compare it, as its unique in its own right. Out of other accupressure videos I have seen, its much more comprehensive, and hands on.

Just to be clear on this, SeanySean you have bought the DVD right? Because the review on Amazon complained that there were only "10 minutes of showing from far distance and for a second or two zooming on face without any explanations on location of pressure points." |

I have borrowed some books on acupressure. Its not specific to face but other conditions as well. From what I read, you just press some points on your face and certain parts of your body. Is yours the same? |

Yes I do have it, and its short - some 19 minutes but its not by any means a beginners video. I think people who have tried accupressure etc before are the ones most likely to benefit. It does show point placing very well, and the woman talks along while demoing it on a lady.
I can understand the frustration if someone is completely new to it, it would be far too quick to keep up with, but I know many people have used the Accupressure Face Life and this demo's far more points, albeit at a quicker pace.
If someone was a complete beginner, then one video I like which goes slowly is the LifeLift dvd, that has Rashelle Haines demoing an accupressure facelift and that sequence is closest to those I have studied.

I rewatched the dvd last night, and its not true, you do get some relative close ups, the problem probably is that they have the expert show you the position first (as though she would treat the client) and then gets the client to demonstrate it on her own. It comes with a diagram, that helps locate the points fairly easy. I suppose the criticism that is posted on Amazon is simply because she only does a couple of reps of each point, whereas in the video they tell you to aim for 20 reps I recall, so I can see how if you wanted something to work along to, this might be difficult, but I think its interesting nonetheless.

I finally watched this and have been trying it out for two days in conjunction with the Tanaka massage. While I have been doing the Tanaka massage for awhile and like it, I haven't noticed as many improvements in my mouth area (pouches on the sides) as I'd like. But now that I've started doing the rejuvenation system with it, my results are much better. I'll post pictures if the mouth pouches disappear like I'm hoping they will.
BTW, I don't have any trouble following her instructions at all. |

Hey Skippie
I'm glad you like it. I must admit its one of my all time personal favourites. I think the woman presents it so well, demonstrating it on the model, and then having the model do it herself, and there is something about the music that plays also that I find very calming.
I do think though the author is very wise and holistic in her suggestions on the dvd about doing things like cleansing, toning etc and making it part of your lifestyle (but also mentioning tips on eating etc regularly throughout the day etc). |

Thanks again for the recommendation, Seany. I wondered if you were still doing this. Did you notice that she mentioned her next DVD? I wonder when that will be coming out and what it will show. |

Yes, accupressure is a major element of my studies, and so I encompass it as often as possible. For me, its the calming effect it has.
Yes I know there was mention of a new dvd in which she would demonstrate her body exercises, but there hasn't been enough demand yet for that to be made apparently (though I wish she would).
I really like how she encompasses the whole body on its return to optimum health rather than focusing on beauty (as I think a healthy body is a beautiful one without doubt).

JLM, i saw on the nl thread that you were having some success w/the TY system...at that time, were you just using the points specifically for the nl area..and are now going to begin your whole face?
i've no doubt this system will be helpful to me as i've experienced the very dramatic benefits of acupuncture/acupressure on my face...and also on my body/mind. |

Hi jasminerosey,
Sorry it's taken me a little while to get back to you-- I'm out of town right now. Yes, I was just focusing on the NL accupresure points & am now working on the whole face, as you said. I did see some improvement, but I had to after the NL accupressure points for much longer than what TY said in the video. I'll give a more comprehensive review after I finish up my trial week, doing the TY 2x/day. |

Well, I just finished up my week-long trial of the TY Rejuvenation System. I did it twice a day, once in the AM, once in the PM. I followed along with the routine of the 10 accupressure points that she prescribes in the video, pressing on the point with a fingertip for 3 seconds & massaging in a circular motion for 3 seconds.
Doing the accupressure was very relaxing. Strangely enough, my blocked sinuses cleared very rapidly as I followed the routine, despite my deviated septum that prevents me from breathing through my left nostril. The video is quite easy to follow along with, although I wondered sometimes whether I was pressing on exactly the right point.
However, I did not see any *wow* results, as I did with Tanaka. This is probably an unfair comparison. It seems that the TY system is something where the benefits are more accretive, like an exercise program. Yet I did notice that when I did the routine for much longer, for about 20-30 minutes (the video is about 10 minutes), I *did* see immediate results, more of a relaxed, lifted look, diminished NLs.
What I like about the TY system is that you can do it almost anywhere, at any time, at your convenience. You just press on the accupressure points, without any need for oils or creams, etc (like Tanaka) or gadgets.
I think that I will incorporate the TY system into my routine, because it does seem that it might be effective over time and quite easy & convenient to do. (I just hope I'm pressing down on the right points!)
One thing: I have to admit, I was not that impressed by the "youthfulness" of TY's appearance. She is supposed to be 50 in the video; I would peg her at 45-- a very good 45, however. Her skin is beautiful and she has no sag or wrinkles. To me, she looks like that ageless, indeterminate sort of age, but not youthful. This may just be because she is carrying a few extra pounds (not a lot, just a few)? I hope I don't sound too judgemental... |

I've also wondered if I pressing on the right point, especially around my eyes where there's a lot of bone. On some spots, I'm pretty sure that I'm hitting the right point, because I can feel a difference in other parts of my face when I'm pressing. When I'm pressing on the bone around my eyes, I don't feel anything at all. Like you, JLM, I feel my sinuses draining when I do this. |

JLM and Skippie, i would imagine after time you will become more sensitive to the exact points on the meridians to press/massage.
Skippie, what's your experience been so far with this system
JLM, when you extend the time of the program from about 10 minutes to 30 or so..do you just repeat each protocol 3x? |
