For: Little Age Lines, Try: GRAPES

What’s so special about antioxidants like the vitamin C found in grapes? They act as your skin’s bodyguards, repairing and even preventing premature dryness, fine lines and sagging caused by tiny molecules called free radicals, by-products of normal cell function that wreak havoc on your skin, says Dr. Roizen. One to one and a half cups of grapes deliver close to 20 percent of your daily C needs, and will also supply a chemical that helps preserve the protein elastin, which keeps your skin plump—not prune-y. (And, yes, red wine has it too.)

Are they referring to red grapes only?

Sounds like red grapes to me. But honestly, isn't chocolate a better answer to the description in the title of the post?

I think raisins are generally made from white grapes, so to the extent that the health benefits are from red grape skins, then raisins wouldn't be the same. Also, raisins are made from seedless varieties, so any positive properties that leach from the seeds would also be absent compared to grape juice or wine.

From my under the Cacao bean is the highest antioxidant you can get. I've been on the search for these little treasures. I'm hoping Whole Foods will have them when I travel there!

Isn't it bad for your waist line since grapes are high in sugar? Moderation is key.

Grapes are low on the glycemic index. From what I understand you should consume 2 servings of fruit a day. About 1 cup usually equals a serving. Smile

Agree,

A good "diet" trick is to wash, dry and freeze grapes (seedless) and snack on them, being frozen they take forever to eat, yet satisfy that need to have some munchies when that craving hits Smile

I went to the store tonight and purchased some grapes. I have been patiently waiting for cherries to come in season! I like to change up my fruits. There are so many tasty ones out there! Very Happy
