Well I have been using this new eyelash growth stimulator for about 3.5 weeks now & I promised I would post a full review once I've given it a chance. Unlike many of the other EDS members here, I've never used any eyelash growth product (other than volumizing mascara), so I didn't know if I would really have anything to compare it to. So here goes with what I have noticed so far:
1. The Product: The product itself is very easy to use. It comes as a kit in a box and includes a small dropper bottle of product and 60 disposable eyeliner brushes. These are not cheap, rough brushes, they are either real hair, or some sort of synthetic that is so soft that it can pass for real hair. Before bed I just drip a drop of the solution (which is a clear gel-like liquid) into the inside of the lid & swirl the brush around until it's covered with serum. Then you just line your eyes like it's eyeliner. You don't brush it on to your lashes like mascara, but just touch the base of each lash where it is growing out of the eyelid. I've had no stinging or irritation, even the few times I have been rushing & end up getting some in my eye. No sensitivity or red eyelids like some other members report with other brands of lash serums.
2. Results: Well I have to say that this is where I am happliy pleased. To be honest, I wasn't expecting dramatic results, and I fully intended on taking advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee. But I have to admit that it is working! Not that it gives you false-looking eyelashes overnight - believe me, for the first week or so I was wondering if I was just putting water on my lashes! LOL! But luckily I took a before photo so that I could compare. My lashes at week 3 are starting to look somewhat longer, but they are noticably much fuller! I have much more density of lashes - tiny little lashes growing in between the lashes that were already there. And what surprised me the most is that ever since I was a child I have had this little "bald spot" on the outside corner of my lower lashes on my right eye. Lashes just never grew there. So consequently I always have to over-line my bottom lahes with eyeliner pencil to fill in the bald spot so it isn't so noticeable with dark mascara. Anyway, there are tiny little lashes growing & filling in that area! I am thrilled!
I am going to continue to use up this bottle & am half tempted to buy another one now while it's on sale, just to maintain the results & see how far I can get them to grow. By no means is this an overnight miracle product, but then again, I don't know that any product that actually makes hair grow will give immediate results. It's a bit like watching grass grow! LOL! But I have to say this stuff does make your lashes grow and I have had no shedding, so I know that the new growth must be because of the serum. I was tempted to use it twice a day & see if the results would come on faster, but the box says that using a higher dose than recommended or more often will not give faster or better results. I guess hair can only grow so fast?
So, there you have it - not a total rave, but then again I still have a couple weeks left on this bottle. I think I am going to keep up with it & do the maintanance treatment (which is using it twice a week to maintain results). But I am going to keep applying it to that sparse patch on my bottom eyelid & see if I can get these little baby lashes to grow even longer. Is anybody else here trying this serum? I'd love to see what kind of results other members are having!

Thanks for your in-depth review doodlebug.
It's good to hear that it works without irritation. Hopefully EDS will soon stock the Prolatogen...I'd like to give it a try. |

Thanks for reporting back in Doodlebug with such a thorough review. I am glad to hear it is working so well for you, no irritation is a big plus with lash serums. I hope you see even more growth with continued use. |

Thanks for the review doodlebug. How long do you think a bottle will last? |

I'm not sure how long it will last Girlygirl? Each kit is a month's supply I think based on the number of brushes. But then after the initial kit, you're supposed to use it only twice a week, which would then give you 15 weeks worth or product (I think - if I did my math right?) I have 18 brushes left, which is 9 more days, since you use a different brush on each eye. But it feels like there is more than 18 drops left in the bottle (though I can't be sure). I'll have to finish this bottle up & let you know how it works out. Sorry my post was long-winded! I don't post on EDS often, but when I do, I tend to get carried away & ramble a bit... |

Great review, doodlebug! Thanks so much for letting us know how this works. It sounds very promising, and I liked hearing that your lashes looked more dense! |

OMG great news that EDS is selling it, too.
Doodlebug - where did you buy yours from that offers the 30 day $ back guarantee? I don't think EDS offers $ back guarantee. |

I got mine directly from PSF when I got their email about its release (http://www.psfskincare.com). At that time EDS did not have it available yet. HTH!

Thank you! It helps a lot. I looked up their guarantee policy. You're right. They do offer 30 days money back guarantee. This is a huge incentive. Also they are offering 15% off until 4-30-10 (the web site says 4-31-10 but there's no such a date) on the eyelash growth product. |

Thanks for the review doodlebug! Just a random question though, sounds like you will be running out of brushes before you run out of the solution. Is the solution a little gel-like or extremely watery? I'm wondering what you plan on using for application when you run out of brushes? Would it be possible to use 2 makeup brushs and just clean them after applying every night?
I love this 1-time brush application idea because I use to use a lash serum in the form of a mascara but after a while the solution became milky because of contamination...looked kinda scary actually! |

Is it possible to use only one brush for both eyes? That way you have more brushes to last through the bottle? I'm thinking no double dipping, so you dip your clean brush only one time, and use one side of the brush on one eye, and flip over and use the other side of the brush on the other eye. Can this be done? |

:-& That's so gross about the mascara wand type of serum getting milky! Especially on your eyes! No, the Prolatogen is sort of gel-like consistancy, very similar to their HA Serum. I don't know how much serum I'll have left once the brushes are gone. If I have leftover, I'll probably use a Q-tip or something to apply it. I'd be too afraid to re-use the same brush. I got a stye in my eye once from an eyeliner brush (I think) so ever since the I use a pencil liner & sharpen it every time. So I'd never want to go through that again! Don't know if that helps, but I figure I'm using fresh liner each time... HTH!

Hmm...I don't think that'd work. The brush is not wide or flat. It's a really thin cylindrical brush. Just like the type that comes in a liquid eyeliner, but disposable. I don't think you could use only one side - it's to thin. I don't know how you could stretch the brushes, unless you didn't care & just used the same brush on both eyes. But I'm too afraid to do that, so I'd just assume use a Q-tip. HTH!

You could do what I do with my serum (different brand) I wipe the brush on a stridex pad and let it dry between, it sterilizes the brush! |

oic, , maybe PSF just has to include more than just 60 brushes then. Obviously these aren't enough to the end of the bottle. Or maybe they sell the disposable brushes if you wish to purchase? |

The one I bought came with a really nice non-disposable eyeliner brush so I just use that and clean it after using. |

Natalyn,
Well I used my last 2 brushes last night, so I'll let you know if there is much serum left. I bought another kit to do another month, but I'm going to use Q-tips to see how many applications I get out of this bottle. I guess they give you 60 brushes because the kit is only supposed to last you a month. Like I said, I don't know how much (if any!) serum is left. I'll keep on this same bottle & let you know! |

ok thanks doodle. Do you think it's expensive for the serum to suppose to last only 30 days? Doesn't it sometimes take longer than 30 days for the lashes to grow? |

Well, it's not an inexpensive product, but it obviously is working for me, so I guess I can't complain. They say you get results in 4-6 weeks. I have been using it for 4 weeks & my lashes are noticably fuller & longer. I have another kit that I will use for another 2 weeks, then I'll switch to the maintainance plan of using it only twice a week. That won't be too bad - I think I figured out at one point that using it twice a week, the kit would last 15 weeks. So when you look at the big picture, it's not that expensive. Plus, the freedom of not having to wear mascara every day is almost worth it just in itself! LOL!

So here's the update I promised - the serum lasted maybe 3 or 4 days past when I ran out of brushes, so it was timed pretty good. I just used a Q-tip to apply it from the first kit until I opened the new kit. Hope that helps!
I'm still having good results & am very happy! So I will definitely keep with it to see how long I can make these buggers! |

I just see this thread. Does anyone else have success stories to report on this particular lash serum? Is Doodlebug the only one? |

So far she's the only one that has reported trying it.
I saw that the NOTH didn't work for you, this uses the same active plus KGF, so I don't know how well it will do for you or not? |
