I made a mixture of jojoba, macadamia nut oil, avacado oil in a brown glass amber pump bottle. I added less of squalane, rose hip seed oil, and vitamin e oil. I didn't think it needed refridgeration and I thought the vitamin e would kind of be a preservative but it looks like "fuzzys" are growing in there. I'm assuming it's mold. Should this have molded? |

I've had oils mold before. I know they technically don't need a preservative but it has happened to me twice the past year. |

Did they mold when you mixed them or in their original container?
If I want to reuse my container will soapy water and then an alcohol rinse be sufficient? |

Original containers.
I think washing in soap & water and then rinsing in alcohol would be fine. Thats how I clean my containers. |

Crossposting this method has done the trick for me for years, it makes sure everything is sterile.
You might laugh at this, but I still have mesh bags that were for baby bottle (tops, rings, nipples) that you use in your dishwasher, they close so prevent anything from ending up on the heating elements. If you don't have a dishwasher gently boil them for 3-5 minutes and they will be sterile. |
