If I just mix it fresh with water what kind of texture will it be? does it provide any moisture or will I need to mix it with some oil/cream in order to make it not clumpy and absorb. is water ok to use?
Also, Can any percent of pearl powder be used safely? I may add some of the micronized kind into my loose powder and my toner mist. |

sweetsweettart,
I know that jjbeacham makes a pearl powder toner by mixing 2 tablespoons of distilled water with 1/4 teaspoon of pearl powder. I've never used just pearl powder with water. I always mix mine into a cream. I do think it might be clumpy or hard to spread if you were trying to make a paste just from the powder and water. I use it both in a cream and in a face powder I make. |

I bought some pearl powder from the company where I get my mineral makeup. It is hydrolzed pearl powder though (not sure which kind you have). It does mix right in with warm water with no clumps, but when it dries on your skin it leaves a white powdery film. I use it like a masque & leave it on for 20 minutes & then rinse it off. Actually, I haven't used it in months - I should dig it out of my drawer! Thanks for reminding me about it! Good luck! |
