Hello!
So I've been reading lots of good things about polyhydroxyacids (PHA) and bionic acids.
I've seen that the most commons are:
- Gluconolactone (a PHA)
- Lactobionic (bionic acid)
I see it being sold as creams but the ingredients do not convince me. So I'd like to do something myself.
Has anyone tried? |

I haven't tried it, but isn't the Neostrata brand known for these ingredients? |

The issue I am running into checking for - Gluconolactone (a PHA) and Lactobionic (bionic acid) is the only places I have come across that sell are tradekey and the like. They sell in very large quantities and I am not sure about finding proper percentages ect.
Have you found a supplier for a small amount of either? |

What I like about PHA is that besides acting like a AHA, there's research that suggests that they have other properties: they're less irritant, they help restore the skin's barrier function, they have antioxidant/chelating properties, in vitro studies have suggested it might protect against UV rays.
Regarding bionic acids (BA) what I like is that there's research that has suggested that they inhbit MMPs, they have an antioxidant/chelating effect, and also the molecule attracts water and forms like a little gel matrix which I hope would make my skin nice and plump!
I thought about buying the Neostrata products but I need to know more about the stability of these products (do they degrade in the emulsion and become useless?) and I don't like all the other stuff the Neostraa products include |
