| I was doing some online google research on the efficacy of glycolic acid products as well as harmful effects for the skin. Research shows that it does improve texture and overall appearance, however, the epidermal layer thickens and the skin may also experience damage from extra sensitivity to the sun. I am hesitant to use glycolic acid products though skin care professionals have been telling me to use them. The last time I was using md formulations and md forte products on and off, I noticed that my skin was tanning. Once I stopped my skin returned back to original skin color and tone. Does someone have any suggestions? Maybe there's an excellent sunscreen or something. |

I have heard that too. I think the reason for this is that you are removing dead skin cells and revealing fresh skin which is more sensitive to the sun as compared to when it is protected by a layer of skin cells clinging on to it. That's my understanding of it.
AHAs can be very beneficial though and can give good results, so you just need to make sure that you are using a good broad spectrum sunblock whenever you are outside. I've got Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense at the moment and I like it. That's an SPF30. Shiseido makes an SPF50+ as well. |

| Thank you for your suggestions. I did spend more than 200 dollars on MD formulation products. I will give the glycolic acid treatment a try with the skinceuticals sunscreen. |
