I recently had a consult with an esthetician and she recommended the Obagi Normal system to treat my malasma. On this site they have Normal-oily, normal-sensitive.
I cant seem to figure out which one i need.

I believe the normal/sensitive is actually called Normal/Dry by Obagi but is also used for individuals with more sensitive skin due to gentler ingredients in some of the products. I would choose based on whether your skin tends more towards dry or oily, and/or whether it's sensitive.

I am assuming the sensitive is no way less effective since it contains the same % of active ingredients right?

Before Obagi I was normal with a tendency to feel dry, but not actually *look* dry, I bought the Dry/Sensitive and still think it was too harsh for me.

I believe the only difference in dry vs the oily kit is the cleanser (gel vs cream) and the exfoliator #3 (Exfoderm vs Exfoderm Forte). The cleanser has no active ingredient in it but the exfoliator does. The Exfoderm Forte that comes in the oily kit uses glycolic acid while the Exfoderm in the dry uses phytic acid. I'm not sure about the efficacy of glycolic vs phytic. Rileygirl might now.

The remaining products with active ingredients(clear, blender, sunfader)are the same between the 2 kits

Smile Not sure if the price in Canadian dollar has increased. But, on other currencies, it really depends on exchange rates. For me in AUD, it was around AUD 350 a month ago but now it is more than AUD 400 because the Aussie dollar is in free fall.
