My experiences with numbing creams have been a bit maddening at times.
The same cream, applied to different parts of the face - even for the same length of time - doesn't always produce the same numbing results.
It is a mystery to me.
What are you favorite tips?
What numbing cream works best for you - how long do you leave it on - other tips?
Thanks, BF |

What are you using as your wrap? I use saran wrap- it has to be something that won't allow air to circulate, or it won't numb properly. I use this for both my kids vaccinations, and on my ankle where I have tarsal tunnel syndrome. Cotton will NOT work. |

I totally get the frustration with numbing cream. It put me off Dermarolling (I have quite a collection of Dr Rollers gathering dust at present).
Lidocaine didn't seem that good, so I went for tubes of EMLA. Someone mentioned wiping off the EMLA bit by bit as you roll, and if I glug down some wine and feel gung-ho at some point I might just try it again!
I used cling-film as wrap the last time, about 18 months ago. Still felt the needles but I wiped it off much too soon when I last rolled (shudders at the memory).
Currently experimenting with Efudix/Efudex as a skin peel, so anything else is off the cards for a while! |

Once the occlusive wrap has been on around 20 minutes, the skin thats properly numbed should appear blanched.
Has anyone tried numbing with a bag of frozen peas??? For my shots, I found a bag of frozen peas as useful as lidocaine. |
