I know that many people buy their DIY skin care ingredients from online stores like Bulk Actives. However, has anyone tried using antioxidant supplements from the store? Such as pomegranate, berry, lycopene, or anything of that sort?

I am just curious because if this would work the same, it would be a lot easier to get at the store near where I live. I have seen ingredients like those in many skin care items too, and I am unsure of how the ones at the store would be any different than those. Of course depending on the ones you choose, there could be additives, but I am thinking of the ones that are free of any other ingredients. It seems they would be easy enough to use as well because you can just open up the capsule.

Thanks for the response, but my question is if anyone has tried using a supplement (such as a berry, pomegranate, lycopene, etc.) that is meant to be an oral supplement, and broken it open for skin care use.

Myself only Vitamin E caps pure, but others have as long as there are no fillers included. Also lecithin as an emulsifier.

I think some oral supplements can be used topically but not all can, LAA comes to mind. So you will just want to research first.

I have used tomato puree (without salt)on my face in the past.... keep meaning to use it at least once a week. I apply it, leave it for 20 mins or so, then wash off.It has never done my any harm and the lycopene it contains has good science backing it up.
I have also used mint tea on my face for its antioxidant activity. Again, i dont use it regularly enough to notice any benefit, but it hasnt done me no harm either.
