wine + midnight online shopping + cold night = SLANKET purchase
I'm almost ashamed to admit it (ok, I actually am I guess) but despite telling myself that I definitely would never buy one, I just bought one. Yes, a slanket! Not only did i buy one but I'm paying a fair bit of money to have it shipped to me in Australia (we apparently only have the snuggies here) The recent onset of snuggie advertising in Australia has finally worked on me (albeit it actually worked for the competing brand ).
Please tell me that I am not the only one who caved? Please? |

Do not feel bad!! I have purchased many an ebay item after too much wine, lol.
And I DO own and LOVE my slanket! I actually bought it as a gag bday gift for someone I was dating, but then got rid of them before the bday. So one night when I was cold, I remembered I had it, pulled it out of the bag, and fell in love! It is perfect for late nights at the computer to keep my legs warm. |

Thanks Bethany - I am glad I'm not alone in this Good to hear also that you like yours, I was a little unsure of how gimmicky it would be. |

Well as far South as I am for almost 9 years I didn't cave on this product, but Midnight and later shopping sprees (even sans spirits) have gotten me more times than I can count! Some of the products no matter how gimmicky they seem just seem to entice me to buy! |

Well Mabsy, I wish I could say wine was my excuse. I saw it in Target a while back and bought one in UT burnt orange as my hubby is a longhorn fan here in Texas.
I love the thing, then bought a couple more as presents.
I have done a little posting and shopping after a glass of Chablis, mainly when the hubby is on a trip. If he is here, I don't drink and type as he will ask me what I am doing and I can't get away with it.
Slanket is a funny name for it, sort of has a sleaze/skank tone to it though as it is something to be ashamed of and it isn't. I say be proud of it and enjoy it! |

I had to laugh when I saw this topic because that's exactly what I was doing last night!! So glad I'm not the only one!
I didn't buy a slanket, but I did place an order with EDS.
Annie -- like you, I only do this when my husband is out of town! |

Hmm...does that mean that if I got a husband I might shop online less?
Nah...the stress might drive me to shop MORE! |

Yes, the name of it certainly doesn't help. One of my closest friends threatened (jokingly I assume) to disown me if he ever sees me in it |

Ooohhh, not going to touch that. Sounds like something the gym teacher told us not to do in 7th grade or we would end up pregnant! |

Who needs booze, the midnight hour and the cold to shop on-line? I get the urge 24 hours a day.
I live in an apartment building and all our parcels go to the desk downstairs and then they write out a notification and put it in our post box. One day my husband was in the lift with the receptionist and he told him he was getting RSI from writing out all the notifications!! That resulted in a very unsavoury confrontation with DH. I fixed the dilemma by getting my own post office box at the post office!
Mabsy - what's the difference between a Slanket and a Snuggie? Why did you feel the need to order one from the US?
I think they would be very difficult to walk around in because they're so long. I keep thinking that the number of old ladies with hip fractures must be skyrocketing because of them all tripping over their Snuggies! |

No - just underhanded and sneaky. |

Oh my! That is a good one, but I just couldn't do that, but I don't think I have ever gone overboard when it comes to shopping for things that we don't really need.
Loved your story! |

Skincare,
I think that really makes you a rare breed around here! Going overboard on things we don't really need is standard behavior for most! |

Okay, correction, in my late teens, early twenties, I purchased more then needed. As for skin care products, I may have had more then one cleanser, but it didn't overtake my bathroom. |

I can't use wine as an excuse but I just bought a comfy flannel nightgown from Land's End at their sale. I had bought one last year and loved it so wanted another one to wear when the previous one was in the wash.
I also went to Bed Bath & Beyond and bought some flannel sheets. So cozy! |
