I purchased this serum a month ago, saving it for the time I would finish my Obagi treatment and now I use it in combination while on Obagi maintenance.
My skin was very, very dry after the intense Obagi treatment and was looking for something that would nourish it immediately.
I opened it about two weeks ago and starting using it 3 or 4 nights a week. I am also using Skinbiology Emu oil. These two products are new to my skin regimen; therefore I don't know which one is the one making major improvements on my skin texture. I guess emu oil is making the hydrating effect improvement and this serum is making my pore size smaller and skin tighter.
Prior to Obagi I was using Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair for years and never saw this kind of texture on my skin nor with Retin-A.
Anyway, these are the ingredients and for sure I will continue buying it.
Ingredients
5% Argireline® - peptide that reduces the degree and depth of wrinkles
3% Matrixyl™3000 - stimulates skin fibroblast while healing and repairing the cell matrix
1% Marine Oligopeptides - provides skin the amino acids it needs to synthesize collagen, stimulates skin function and retains moisture
1% Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) - stimulates tissue repair and strengthens the skin
1% Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) - disarms the destructive free radicals and provides anti-inflammatory benefits
1% Alpha Lipoic Acid - potent antioxidant that defends against free radicals
1% Retinol - accelerates cellular renewal
5% Glycosaminoglycans/Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate - matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor, aids in slowing the aging process
Aqua (Distilled Water), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Glycerin, Argireline® (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3), Glycosaminoglycans/Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, C12-15 AlkylBenzoate, Matrixyl™ 3000 (Palmitoyl Oligopeptide-Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3), Retinol, Marine Oligopeptides, Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Superoxide Dismutase, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Phyllantus Emblica (Amla) Fruit Extract, L-carnosine, Niacinamide, Spin Trap (Phenyl Butyl Nitrone), Xanthan Gum, Fragrance Oils, Dehydroacetic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzethonium Chloride |

Hi Margarett,
Thanks for the review. I've been thinking of getting retin-A for a while, but have been scared of it drying out my skin too much.
I have seriously dry skin
I noticed this contained retinol, and was wondering if you thought it may have been drying? |

Hi gimidailight,
As a matter of fact, I bought this thinking it could replace Retin-A, as I always have bad results with it and never go more than 9 months with it since I see no improvement. I never learn my lesson This last time was the worse using retin-a, I guess I am older and my skin can't take it. So, I bought this and I asked here at EDS which would be the serum with the highest % of retinol. I am glad I bought it because my skin feels so nice. I don't know on the long run and I use so many other products. It has a milky consistency and its very hydrating, not drying at all. I also put it on my chest and I was having a couple of tiny wrinkles there because I put retin-a there too, well, they have just vanished. My face.. is another story and doubt that the wrinkles on my eyes will vanish that easily. |

I am sometimes using a face cream that has Matryxil,Agireline? and peptides.
I found it has helped reduce my"frown lines" by 3/4
I also use the same Neostrata wrikle repair arround the eye area 4x a week and still have no wrinkles (but I am only 33,but my sister who is 30..she had wrinkles already).
She was actually desperate to find out what I used on my skinto stillhave no wrinkles at all
I also used to use Dior capture line more as I used to get a ton of the deluxe size samples and since I only used that on areas of concern,it seemed to help a lot too.
My only problem now is that where my frown lines were, they are 3/4 better,bu now I have these red stripes or marks where the lines were...
I always have to wear tinted cream to make my skin look "normal''
I can try and find out the ingredients of the neostrata, butdo not have the packaging anymore... |

Yeah, Matrixyl is supposed to be very good for helping with wrinkles.
I don't like Neostrata. I once used these products from that line that were supposed to treat my hyperpigmentation and it was a complete waste of time. I hated them! |
