Wow, it took 5 hours to do the straightening. I'm glad I only have to do this once a year.
But it's so worth it.
My hair is soft, shiny, and silky.
I have long hair down to the bra strap length. It cost $150. They used Liscio solution.
I'm considering highlights next. Anyone got highlights done? Did you do full head or a few strands? |

I always straighten my hair like once a yr or 1 1/2 yr..... I love it too! It makes your hair so soft and straight and it's easy to manage. It's good to wait around a wk before you color or highlight your hair again cuz u don't want too much chemicals all at once. |

Sounds lovely. How long does it last.. I just use a blow dry product but it is a lot of work every time I wash my hair. Enjoy!! |

Hi Natalyn:
I also get my hair straightened from time to time, isn't it great!
What process did you have done, Japanese or Brazilian straightening?
I used to have the Japanese straightening and it does make your hair pin straight, but then my hair started looking like straw. So, I went and had the Brazilian straightening done, and although Brazilian takes out all frizziness, it does not make your hair pin straight, the waves/curls are still there.
I haven't had it done in over 6 months, and the humid summer weather is here, so it is time for another treatment. |

Hi there MystyPines, I don't really like the Jap. straightening too cuz it's too pin straight but then it looks more natural after a month or so. And usually I asked them not to straighten it too close to the roots. So how much is the Brazilian straightening? Thanks! |

I think this is more the Japanese straightening but the solution is not Yuko. It's called Liscio, and it's supposed to be better.
I asked the hairdresser to leave 1" from the roots, so my hair will have a bit of body. He actually left off 2".
My hair is very soft and it looks like it has weight. It is very straight, and I look like I Have natural asian straight hair. I got compliments from a couple of people at work. My best friend said I should have it done every time now.
The result should last forever on the part that has been straightened. When new growths grow out, I'll then have to deal with them. I think I'll probably do it again in a year. 5 hours were a long time to wait, but it's worth it. This guy is really good. He has done this so many times. He got lots of good reviews. His price can't be beat. It's a flat rate even if you have hair as long as waist length.
I'm happy so far. I hope that my hair won't turn to straw.
I washed my hair only with conditioner this morning, and just dried with a towel and combed through. No tangles. No blowdry. Wash and go. It looks better than the first day after I got it done. |
