Hello and good day,
I am wondering whether anyone here knows and can share some information re: Uglogirl.
I am using my last container of their mineral make up and would like to re-order. However, for several months the website indicated they were closed temporarily due to the 'merger' with another product line...and now the website link isn't working for me.
Does anyone know whether Uglogirl minerals etc. will be available...or is it a case of 'another one bites the dust'?
Cheers! |

Hi myamax,
I too use the UgloGirl mineral foundation (still is my fav!). I tried to reorder as well but it appears they have been closed for some time. I emailed the support email & got a reply from Gina saying that due to unforseen health problems, Melissa (the owner) is having to close up shop permanantly. So I guess that's why the web-store hasn't been open for some time.
I still have some of my UGG MM left, so I will soon be on a search for a new MM. Let me know if you find any that you like. The problem I have found with many other brands is that they are too powdery/cakey. I like how the UGG is sheer but still gives good coverage. It's a shame they are closing - I really liked their stuff & Melissa was a sweetheart to deal with. I hope her health problems aren't anything too serious. HTH! |

If you need a replacement to your mineral make up i can suggest Lancome Minerale complex. Sorry i couldn't post a URL, but you can find it on their web site under special offers. They have it on sale now.
I like how it covers all imperfections on my skin. Even dark circles under my eyes. |

I love the Merle Norman loose mineral powder. It's sheer but buildable and not powdery at all. It's very light. If you're very fair and yellow toned like me, then I guess u probably can't find a good match. The lightest shade is still a bit pinkish on me compared to my neck but since I love the coverage and finish so~ much that I'm willing to live with it. LOL |

I use Raesin Images...lots of color choices, no bismuth, etc. Unfortunately, their website is hideous, but I was glad I overlooked that and ordered anyway.

I just spent over an hour on the website and ordered some samples. Gosh, you are right...that website is downright painful. Ugh!! |

Absolutely I think it's the worst all time "professional" site I have ever had to navigate! However it's my next favorite brand after Aromaleigh, it's a fantastic brand with a horrid site. |

You might like Blusche and they have refill baggies so you can save a bit of money. Their foundations are sheer and buildable. I love how it gives me a nice glow and people just compliment me on how I look. I dont use a finishing powder and probably should or a priming powder as I find it doesnt last on me. But YMMV!
I got to check them out again as I need something with a glow. |

I really like Abbey st Clare.
They do not use bismuth and the samples you buy are quite generous and a baggie lasted me over 2 weeks
www.abbeystclare.com
I found though that their shades online actually look lighter than in person.
I thought I'd be 2.0 shade and the owner Margaret, she sent me samples of 4.0,5.0 as I mentioned what shades of other brands I used.
4.0 matched my skin tone exactly and I'm medium beige in bare minerals.
Her makeup blends very well also, they are a small company also.
I also really like the blushes from this brand too. |

oh goodness - I am sorry to hear Melissa isn't well. I will have to find another mineral make-up...though I really, really liked Uglogirl so I expect it will not be an easy task.
Thanks for the suggestions; am off to start the hunt!

Out of all the MMUs I tried ( and I think I tried most of them) the only one that worked (color wise, coverage wise, and breakout wise) was SilkNaturals.
Part of the problem I have a very light skin with pink undertones and some freckles. Also, since I have facial fuzz most powder makeup enhances that and that is not the effect I am after.
With SilkNaturals color is not an issue (since it is blended by the customer) and it is very well milled, so it looks very natural and stays very well.
I also tried to use foundation instead of eye shadows (just being lazy) and that also worked very well.
HTH |
