Keep a lip-gloss handy
If you get caught out without makeup at least a lip-gloss can brighten up your face. Lip-gloss will also freshen up a fading lip color.
Bronze it
A bronzer is perfect for casual days. Many women do not like to wear foundation everyday. A bronzer is ideal to give you some color and coverage without looking fully made up.
Keep your lipstick on your lips
Apply your lipstick carefully. There is nothing worse than over applying lipstick and smearing it onto your teeth. To ensure you dont get lipstick stuck on your teeth, pop a finger into your mouth, close your lips over it and pull it out. Any excess lipstick will stick to your finger and not to your teeth.
Ensure your make up stays up
Sick and tired of your make-up finishing the days before you? Apply a translucent powder over your foundation before you apply any other make-up t o ensure it lasts all day.
Learn to apply your make-up properly
Throwing on some lipstick and mascara may have worked in high school but it is time to know how to expertly apply your foundation and more than one eye shadow color.
Know what make-up techniques suit you.
A little eyeliner placed on the outer corners of your lower lids will highlight your eyes and make them appear larger. Unless you have very large eyes, applying eyeliner inside your eyelids will only close your eyes up. The only time eyeliner works on the inside of your eyelids is when it is white. This works particularly well for weddings and other special events.
Hope these tips are useful and Expecting more tips......... |

Thanks!
I still do not see what is "wrong" with wearing just one eye shadow shade and mascara...
Well, guess I do not apply my makeup properly since I just wear one shade of eyeshadow sometimes and no mascara?
I don't have any really good "tips" but I just bought a solid perfume to put in my makeup bag to freshen up more esily and also to pull out when stuff around me smells awful I can at least smell a nice "fresh" perfume.
the perfume I bought was one of the occitane solid tins, but I know many brnds have smell perfumes thesedays too!
To me I do not think there are many makeup rules, but your foundation or tinted whatever should match your skintone |

Having the best suitable concealer is very important for me to hide the dark circles. |

While I frequently troll this site looking for tips, I do have one that I like.
There is a product called "she-laq" (like laquer) from Benefit that is basically like a "clear coat" of nail polish for your eye liner. If I'm going to wear eyeliner it works really well as a sealing coat and it lasts for hours, your makeup will NOT smear (even under eyes). The only problem is that the bottle doesn't last very long because it "seals" shut and if forced open the lid breaks and then the product dries out. I've bought it a couple of times and LOVE it for special occasions to make sure photos etc dont appear smeared. |

I read on the sephora site that She-laq burned people's eyes and skin!
I also do not like how you have to dip the tools into the bottle.
I bought a kind of similar product, but it was just for eyes and it is in a dropper bottle and did not burn my skin!
It is also only $4.10 which is a good price.
Does not make your makeup waterproof though-but i have put a drop on my finger to use as a base for mineral eye shadows and that worked great too!

Try wiping the inside of the lid and opening of the bottle before closing, I have had a bottle last ages, I don't use it often but like you there are those times that you just know your makeup will probably run!

I actually posted in the other section, what my answer was...
But it was Bvlgari Black (apparently quite a few people on sephora's site had similar "results, lol).
But Black I find a bit too annoying to wear every day..I also like green perfumes like Bvlgari green tea.
I do not get as many comments on that one,but do get some sometimes. |

I'm big on the Laura Mercier method. I feel her approach is best for people like me who have been globbing makeup on since back in the day. She says to apply primer then apply foundation with a sponge blending from the jawline in. I use a powder puff to apply my powder, tapping most of the excess off and rolling across my face from the top down. I no longer apply my blush back and forth across my cheeks. I swoosh it on in a circular motion across the tops of my cheek bones. I apply bronzer with a big fluffy brush before blush but have been called orange at least a few times at work. My Loreal bronzer has way too much shimmer in it but is a nice light yellowish tone and no one ever called that one orange. I still line my whole eye, can't seem to break myself of that. I think it is very important to have a good neutral contour to use in the crease of the eye, well depending on what color eye shadow you use. I'm not doing as much colorful eyes these days now that I'm almost 40. Last spring I used mostly NYC bronzer in my crease. I have an angled brush from Sonia Kashuk that works really well.
I highlight the tops of my cheekbones with the slightest amount of light beigeish white shimmer.
I've tried to explore Scott Barnes makeup techniques, he's so in to contouring but so far I can't follow a lot of what he says. His methods are very different than Laura's.
Probably the main thing I've focused on the last year and a half has been bronzing, contouring and highlighting.
I don't wear much makeup in the summer, too dangerous with the Albuquerque climate. |

Oh, gosh...that seems like so much work to do your makeup.
I don't think I can be that organized, or patient with using so many items (or at least that is what I think now
I almost never wear eye liner,
and bronser sometimes, but them do not use blush.
I do not really have a specific was of putting on blush and for me it depends on the shade- I have a few mineral samples that are too dark and for those you use a fan brush and the shade looks ok then.
I've tried my other 2 blush brushes and the fan brush seems best for powder blushes!
My other makeup tip is that the dollar stores, they have really good makeup brushes!
But if you look in the actualmakeup section, those are really lousy.
I was looking for a very thin eyeliner brush and after looking at 5 stores and seeing how all the brushes were too thick for my look I ended up buying a set with 2 painbrushes at Dollarama or a store like that.
I think I paid $2 for the 2 brushes and they are great, nylon bristles and have not fallen apart in 5 months
or if you are not into dollar store, Michels crafts, the painbrush section should have some very good fan brushes and some brushes you can use for makeup,
I do have some real makeup brushes though like for eyeshadow and mineral makeup.
What i actually like about the small painbrushes for yeliner is that they are smaller than the smashbox or sephora eye liner brush and so if you want just a thin line it works extremely well |

I usually only put on make up when I feel like it or when I have to for an occasion. Usually I go au natural for my face. It makes putting on make up a bigger impact for me so when my friends see me, they go like WOW!
I guess it's all about getting used to. Once you put on make up daily, you can't stop cos you can't bear to walk out without make up. Your friends will think you look sick or tired without make up. So for those young girls out there, my tip is no make up unless going on a date or special function... au natural is the way to go! Then you'll always look stunning with make up on!
And when I do wear make up, I go all the way... the full works. I've also come to love M.A.C. make up which is really good for foundation stuff and eye shadows. I used to go crazy for Benefit but realised they do not have "indepth" make up and are more for people who just started doing make up or people who want to do fuss-free make up.
Their stick foundation (playstick) is not very good and I regretted buying a lot of their stuff apart from the liquid blusher (benetint) but now I have also stopped using it in favor of M.A.C.'s blusher which is powder based and does not "wipe off" your foundation/powder after applying. The benetint tends to do that since it is liquid and you kinda have to blend with your finger. |
