I buy those tiny bottles of lumigan ...online for cheap....there is a lot of waste at times...I threw out the squeeze top because I felt it gave out too much lumigan and in this case more is NOT better. So I would dip the brush in and line my lids.....but then if you think about it, the brush still has lumigan on it and if you lay it in your makeup tray it dries out and you have lost some of the valuable product...so this is what I did. I have a soldering craft tool I bought at Michaels for $16....it has come in very hand from time to time for a variety of things.I turned it on, it got very hot and I shoved the hot tip thru the top.....it made a perfect hole at the top....I made the hole big enough to exactly fit the liner brush....put the brush thru the hole and tightened the lid. From now on when I am done with the brush I put the brush thru the hole and the rest of the unused lumigan on the brush tip is safely in the bottle. If you dont want or dont have a soldering tool just use a tiny saw...razor or whatever to nip the top off.I just found the soldering tool to be very helpful in melting the perfect size hole to fit the brush and make it airtight. |

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if that is sanitary. When you expose the brush to your lids and air, you are contaminating the brush with bacteria, mold spores in the air etc. Then you are putting the brush back into the bottle (in a moist environment) which then can be a breeding ground for all that stuff. That's why they recommend you don't touch the tip of the bottle to the brush when dispensing the product. Personally, at $10 bottle for the careprost, I would rather waste product on the brush than risk having the entire bottle go bad or getting some infection in my eye. The bottle I have has lasted months, which is a long time for bacteria to proliferate. |

ITA. I would not do this. Its not worth the risk of possible infection and careprost is rather cheap already. |

Its the same principal as the wand use of lumigan such as Jan Marini's age intervention lash formula...the brush is in the tube. You just have to have the brush fit the hole perfectly which I was able to do with the soldering tool. |

Products that are designed to keep the brush intact inside the tube are formulated for that method of application and include preservatives and other ingredients, or greater amounts of such, to inhibit or minimize bacterial growth. Careprost was not formulated for that type of application and storage. |
