I have been using jojoba oil & squalane for 3 months and they have been doing a great job of soothing my skin after the use of Retin-A & keeping my skin hydrated.
When I massaged the oil to my skin. I found sand like particles during the massage & thought that these particles were contaminates or suspended particles of the oil.
Not until few days ago reading from the web on a topic of oil cleansing method did I realize those sand like particles were hardened sebum (how dumb I were, right?)
I know how to make them come off from my skin but would like to seek advice how to prevent them from happening.
I use microfiber cloth to cleanse my face twice a day; however, I find my skin sensitive to low pH acid after using Retin-A (but able to use Lascal of Skin Biology).
My current regime is as follows;
- pH 5.5 cleanser + microfiber cloth
- Skin Biology Copper Peptides
- Retin-A
- Squalane + jojoba oil |

If you use OCM after a little while you find less and less of those nasty little sebum plugs coming out from your pores. That's the idea behind using this method it keeps your skin clear of clogged pores. |

That just seems to happen to most of us, I think slow cell turnover might play into it to some extent. But we tend to use products that no matter how gentle strip normal oils from the skin causing more oil production and clogged pores. Using oil to cleanse loosens those sebum plugs. I hope that makes sense to you? |
