With the Holiday Season upon us, social functions are abundant, and so is the flow of liquor. Since we've got people rating their favorite ... vacuum cleaners ... I'd like to tell you about some of my favorite wines. Not super-cheap plonk, not screw-cap, but affordable, and very tastey.
Reds
Yellow Tail (AUS) - Shiraz http://www.yellowtailwine.com.au/intro.asp#
White
Lindemans (AUS)- Bin 65 http://www.lindemans.com.au/
P.S. There are some YUMMY wines from our B.C. Okanagan region too! |

Well you certainly like your Aussie wines!! I will have a couple of nights next week in Australia's northernmost wine country (Stanthorpe) so hope to get to do a bit of tippling while in town.
Yellow tail is here in Japan too and the posters say it is the US #1 red wine. I wonder how it ranks IN Australia though? Think I need to get me a bottle! Is it a nice rich, heavy red? I like my reds thick and full bodied! |

I De Bortoli Noble One! It's also Australian but unfortunately a bit expensive for me to have on a regular basis. I should also mention that this is a dessert wine.... |

After years of consuming gallons of red wine, I recently discovered Australian wine and I'm hooked! My favourite of all time is Wolf Blass Yellow Label, but at Cdn$16/bottle its a 'special occasion' treat. I was in the US recently and tried Yellow Tail Shiraz and have to say, this is a winner too
Luckily I have an Italian b/f who's a dab hand at making homemade wine and turns out a not too shabby Merlot

My boys attend Hockey camp in Okanagan quite a few years ago. We had such a great time. I drove into Kelowna to buy hockey tape at Costco. Our local Costco in So Calif. doesn't carry it. The area is so beautiful. I learned to eat french fries with gravy. Oh so good.
I didn't try them with vinegar.
Just wish the NHL would settle things
I'm a very sad hockey fan.
