Keliu,

UP5 is not an ultrasound device.
I tried it and seen no results from it, and still have it in a closet.

Even all ultrasounds are not created equal - there are several different characteristics besides frequency (intensity per square cm, pulsating or continuous) which are also important.

Hi, just want to give my applause to y'all for your generous advice. I'd like to give back by asking if anyone has heard of a device called SQOOM? Costs between 589 -649 Euro's from sqoom.de in Germany. Tel 0049 741 174 12 40. It's an ultrasonic gadget voted 'product of the year 2009' that provides lasting results according to their testimonials. I'm going to investigate how it compares to Skindream Titanium. The site says it combines ultrasonic with ionothermie resulting in new collagen, lifting tightening, gets rid of spider veins, cleans.
I'm interested in buying Safetox and Lightstim after reading all the comments, but both of these are likely to be updated in 2011. Wondering whether I should wait a bit longer. Meanwhile the face continues drooping like an ice cream in hot weather as it approaches 50.

Here's the info about it:
http://www.sqoom.de/cms/upload/downloads/SQOOM-Bedienanleitung_English.pdf

There are now quite a few of these types of devices around. The question would be - is one better than another or is the principle the same making them all equally effective?

I have just purchased skindream a few months ago and find it simply amazing. I feel my skin is more radiant and lifted as my main concern was sagging and it really help me achieve it!! Now I have just puchased the sonicare complete and will be starting it next week for 6 days. Hope it works even better.

I have read that it actually works really well if a vitamin C serum is applied after that and I do it everytime as it helps in cells regeneration. The vitamin C serum I use is SKII and find it works well for me.

Vitamin C serum used after the SkinDream makes an excellent treatment.

Even better, if you have the Phytogel (not the normal green gel which is used on a daily basis with the SkinDream), apply vitamin C serum with the Phytogel on top, then use the SkinDream. The radiant results are amazing as the Vitamin C serum seems to get "fired" deeper into the skin & can really work its magic. Since you do not wash the Phytogel off after treatment (as you would with the green gunky gel), the 2 products are left on your skin to work, either overnight or throughout the day.

The triple ampoule pack, used twice a year with the SkinDream, gives similar results. The SkinDream is a wonderful gadget.

Ultrasonic devices are supposed to be very good for the skin. I own the Almighty Facial Rejuvenator and it's working very well to help plump up the skin. I'm starting to run out of solution and am wondering if any one has a DIY recipe that can be used in conjunction with these devices?

Ive just checked the specs on this,(sqoom) and the ultra sound runs on 1mhz to 1.8mhz now according to what everyone here seems to agree on these frequencies should not be used on the face!

And yet this is very professionally promoted as a device for the face. Scary

If you want an ultra sound device I would say go for the skin dream, at least with that(Skin dream) one you have a choice of frequencies Exclamation

I am lemming one of these but now sitting on the fence. The price of both is about the same.

exactly, it's hard to know whether to use a 1Mhz ultrasonic device or not.
Skindream Titanium and Sqoom both operate at 1Mhz according to their websites (haven't made enough posts to post the web links).
Any further thoughts?

As I said somewhere earlier on this topic thread, which I originally started, I use my Skindream on 100% power on my face, although it is suggested for the body at that power, however, Skindream say 100 % power can be used on the face if no results from the 50%. I see no change to my skin when I use it on 50% & therefore always use it on full power. I have had the gadget for over a year now & my skin has certainly not suffered, quite the reverse.

This is a quality machine, which seems in the manufacturers literature to be well researched & designed. I can only think the manufacturers would not suggest using it on the face at 100% if it were not safe. Some may think me naive, but I did read all about the Skindream carefully before ramping up to 100% power.

Skindream Titanium and Sqoom are both 1Mhz according to their websites I believe?
It's not easy to find current research on what frequency is best for the face. I certainly don't want to use 1Mhz if it results in fat loss from the face.

Husar o1

I do agree, especially when some of the literature ( on this thread, but I cant remember which research) says about fat loss at 1mhz which is why they suggest use for body only.Having said that they do both look like quality devices, I guess with such new (Home) technology there is not enough evidence to say it is ok for 1mhz on the face.

And I am such a coward, I am too scared try.
(Says she who Dermarolls 1mm on her face)

SO who knows one night with glass of vino in one hand and dutch courage I might just click the buy button Rolling Eyes

I am coming up to a birthday soon, and hubby said he'll buy me a skin dream - so I just want to check, is everyone still happy with theirs? Anyone regret their purchase? Suggestions for anything better? (I am thinking, what about a high frequency device, or a professional ultrasound treatment etc)

thanks for giving us your experience. When I have the time I'll do another search on the 1Mhz face issue. I've bought the Sqoom now for about £450.

Hi Hussar01

I've been looking at the Sqoom online since you mentioned, and it's a very good looking machine. It has pretty much the same specs at the Skindream, but with more settings. I think I'm going to get it for my birthday - please keep us updated on how you're liking it.

Hussar1, I was wondering how things are going with your Sqoom? Any buyers remorse?

I was happy to see that it was originally developed for medical purposes, and they do market it also for back pain, sprains etc, so it sounds like a useful device.

PS - where did you buy yours from? I can only find it at Harrods for £529.

Hi Karenlee, I've yet to start using the sqoom despite having bought it ages ago- keep waiting for my life to get better and find a breathing space. Maybe I should just force myself to get started. Anyway I bought Sqoom directly from Germany. I spoke to a very helpful man called Michael Schullian, the project manager. He reduced the price a bit. Try calling him and being charming. He might throw in some extra gels as well. Meanwhile I'll get my skates on and use the bloomin thing.

Wow, how can you have a new (and expensive!) gadget and not rip the box open and stick it on your face the very minute you get it?? Laughing

Redtigerwoman,

I used my Skindream on my foot when I injured it running back in April & got Plantar Fasciitis. I am convinced it helped & really speeded up recovery in time for an important race, also it saved me lots of money as I did not need to visit a sport's health centre for ultra sound treatment. Enjoy the results you will achieve on your face Very Happy
