I truly can't afford the AALS and is Pretika worth buying?? I read that you have to buy new batteries every 2 days for effective results with Pretika???

Also which is better for cheek lift and lower eyelift- Flex Effect or Ageless?

I read Ageless has a great cheek lift excersise.

Thanks

I didn't know they made an LED. I just looked it up, it claims 660 nm. I believe you want a minimum of 730 nm. I wonder how long they suggest it be used per area.

http://www.pretikafacebodyspa.com/lipulithst.html

I know it is still pricey but every few months LS seem to be on Hautelook for around $200. They were just listed there but it ended Monday.

The product of choice for me would have to do with what skin issue I wanted to address. For me it was dealing with sag and not wrinkles so Flexeffect was the best place for me to start. Flexeffect is focused on exercising the whole face which I have found to be WAY more effective in getting the total face lifted and keeping a good balance. I love the Lightstim also but would still start with Flexeffect if it were for needing more overall lifting the face.

Thanks Toby!

My main concern are my cheeks and lower eye lift. I am only 25 years old and dont have any wrinkles Smile

I recently paid $1300 for juvederm for a lower face lift. I did see a "slight" difference but nothing MAJOR. So when i read a few post about using ageless and LED with pics , I was AMAZED!

I read that Flex Effect is great overall but ageless is better for cheek lift and eye bags.

I dont think i would be able to get AASL but can get the alternate version Pertika.

At the moment I am doing the Flex Effect "Cheek Raiser" and Lower eye lift . Is there a video ? I feel sometimes that Im might doing it correctly. *blank stare*

tasha,
at age 25 what are your issues with your cheeks and ...what are the issues that are causig you to desire lower eyelift..?

i think it's great to do certain beaty protocols to prevent aging..and just to be our personal best...but it worries me that you had juvederm for a lower face lift at age 25...just curious if you have checked out your perceptions about your face with others who might give you an honest response....i think sometimes we can be led astray by photoshop manipulation of even young models/movie stars etc..and believe that that is the way actual women look..

not saying this is the case with you...just wanting to make sure...

imo every invasive procedure has it's 'back'..or downside...as well as it's positve side..and should be only entered into with deep thoughtfulness as to how much we really need/value the upside of the procedure...(and fillers fall into that category of invasive technique IMO)

that being said...i do bothe Ageless and FE...and both have their benefits..as well as their downside (even though they are not 'invasive') if not done according to the needs of your particular skin type/needs....some people develope gauntness..some people mouth 'pouches', etc.....so i would suggest reading the Ageless forum thoroughly...which is availabile for everyone....and if you purchase FE..to join their forum at first to get a good sense of how to use the program as a beginner so you don't run into unnecessary problems..and can learn to adjust any specific problems that may emergy for you personally

massage is really important in both exercise systems....and acupressure 'faceliift' is also an excellent way to tone your face, although you haven't mentioned in your post.

Hello Jasmine

I have a slim face and I guess my concern is making my face fuller and cheeks are the target for making the face full and reducing eye bags.. Nothing really serious or worth going under the knife. Glad the facial excersise are working for you. So is the LED a beneficial to the facial excersise?? I read on a post from a someone doing agless and LED and had GREAT results. Her eye bags reduced ALOT.

personally(and especially since money is an issue)i would try the facial exercises first..along with teh recommended massages in both systems you mentioned before investing in an led. I did Ageless for 1&1/2 years before adding FE..and it was great for my cheeks..(but not enough for my lower face)...and I still incorporate Ageless cheek exercises everyday....the problem realistically about Ageless is that the woman who has created the system is not available or reachable anymore.and there is little (to no) support for questions problems that may arise, etc (although there is a wealth of info previously posted on the forum)...and people are currently having great diffulty in receeving their purchases...so for that reason i would presently begin w/FE.

i think FE is something like $114 now...i purchased it at an intro lower price...but it includes a lot of 'extras' like bone and skin remodeling techniques(done with our own hands) in addition to the reSisitance training and massage techniques included in the program..and exceptional very personalized forum support from certified FE trainers.

but if money is really an issue i would recommend beginning with Ageless (but only After reading the Ageless forum carefully)..(the book and cd are a bit more expensive now..but not much).but please understand many people are not receiving their orders presently and have to go to paypal to try to receive a refund that way...

aside from that i had wonderful results from Ageless in filling my cheek area.and will not give those exercises up even while doing FE (which i also love...it makes my cheeks structurally stronger..and supports my Ageless exercises as well)

Just to way in here, I did FlexEffect 2nd edition, and did jump to Ageless when it first came on the scene, but have to confess I've gone back to FlexEffect 3rd edition which I love love love.

I started facial exercises in my early 50's and am convinced that had I started them younger, I would not be dealing with the issues I have had to deal with or am currently dealing with. I think FlexEffect for me is a far better program than Ageless could be simply as you get more individual care and attention from its forum, and there is a private forum also for people who own the kit etc. Whilst it may seem pricey, I think you get well above and beyond the money's worth you pay for it, plus there are all sorts of advanced techniques etc.

The forum of Ageless started out as a nice bunch of people, but Loulou vanished, and not a word has been heard from her. The mods she had were never really trained by her or her methods so it kind of fell into dismay when she left (if she left - we still to this day don't know whats happened), but then again she kind of did the same thing on the FlexEffect forum, just vanished without a word and then reappeared with Ageless so its highly possible that she's perhaps working on something new. With Ageless also your kind of limited to the workout suggests, which could quite easily become tiredsome or boring, but with Flexeffect they have gone into variation exercises, advanced tools etc and the workouts are now much quicker and easier - it takes me all of 12 minutes to do all the exercises some days when I'm pushed.

The thing i like about FlexEffect is that the dvd demo's every exercise. Something the 2nd edition didn't do and I struggled with as I'm a visual learner so need to be able to see how an exercise is done etc. So the 3rd edition dvd alone was worth the price.

I know they seem to suggest that the younger you start the better, and I have to say that in all my years of doing various programs that is kind of across the board - they say that with each and every program.

Ageless didn't have massage in the beginning, in fact its because of requests here at EDS that Lou wrote about massage, whereas I have to say FlexEffect always has promoted massage since I purchased, and I hate to admit it but I didn't give it much thought initially until Ageless and then I went back to my FlexEffect book and tried that out.

I've not used LED's simply as I can't afford them at present, but from what I've read, many poeple don't use LEDs and still achieve the kind of results your looking for. So in adition to Jasmine's advice, I would suggest you go to FlexEffects general forum as that is staffed by trainers who are more than happy to give you information wheras on Ageless your simply get views from others who aren't necessarily trained in skincare etc.

I think Ageless is great for the cheeks, but not the eyes. In fact many who did Ageless kept up with the eye exercises from FlexEffect which speaks volumes to me. Also the free youtube clip shows its founder Deb on there and her eyes are to die for. I know they say she hasn't had work done, but her eyes look fantastic for a 60 year old.

with Ageless its really good to have the cd as well as the book...and as i say it's not being sent to people as far as i can tell from occassionally still visiting their forum...i believe some people may still be able to download the book..not sure about that though..and if the current situation continues..if you have diffiuclty downloading it..you will not receve answers or support from their customer service..

perhaps the situation wil change in the future.it is eally an effective, inexpensive, system for lifting/increasing the volume of the cheeks...especially for a young person who has no lower face sag issues.

Thats if you can still purchase it - I've seen on the Ageless forum many have purchased it and not received product and have had to put claims through Paypal. Its really out of character for Lou, so I know something must be up, but then if people spend money and don't get product its a bit bad in my opinion but do read the forum as Jasmine suggests to get an idea of the techniques etc as I do think its a great introduction.

Thanks everyone for informing me. I greatly appreciate it. I also believe in "the sooner the better" method too. I was amazed at this post below (check out the pics -1 month results) and she used ageless and LED to achieve these results (Look at her eyes, WOW!!). http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=31539&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=700

Also so the 3rd edition of Flex Effect has the video?? I'm also a visual learner too! Is there a way for u ladies to PM me the cheek excerises on Ageless since thats the ONLY reason why I need it. And I guess next pay check I will get Flex Effect 3rd edition.

So as of right now everyone is saying that LED is pointless right now ?? and focus on Facial excersises?

So i decided to go with the Ageless for cheeks since im reading great reviews about ageless and lower face lift and use flex effect on my eyes for eye bags and firm the skin around the eye area.

Is there anyone out there that's willing to PM or email me the ageless since the chaos of not receiving the product at all. I would highly appreciate it if anyone would be so kind to donate me a helping hand to the ageless excersises especially for the cheeks Smile

I will purchase the flex effect at the end of the month- 3rd edition . Thanks!!

Maybe I'm on my own here, but I find Ageless' eye exercises "Wish" and "Lift Eyelids" really helped my eyes.

I like Ageless' cheek exercises too. What hasn't made any difference (and I've been doing it faithfully since March, one month break with the Efudix irradiation treatment) is the pinch between brows/forehead/chin exercises. Don't even think my neck has improved either.

The consensus seems to be that Ageless doesn't help the lower face (thankfully not really an issue for me yet).

Can't compare it against FlexEffect yet (there's so much to read and digest!) and I haven't given the new FE a shot.

As you're so young, I'd say you probably don't need an LED for another 10 years or so (if at all)..all it's ever done for me is brighten my complexion and made it soft, no wrinkle erasing or miracle skin rejuvenation!

Who knows what wonder skin toys there will be in 10 years Smile!

i really really like the Ageless eye exercises also.....do them still at least two or three times a week...think i actually like them them better, for me, than the FE ones...

also like the FE cheek exercises...feel they are making my cheek muscles stronger than Ageless..although, like i say, i was happy w/ Ageless cheek exercises when i did them alone...and still do them regularly...they are so quick and easy to do almost everyday..sort of like brushing my teeth(it is recommended to do them ever other day ...but everyday, at tbis point, works better for me.

Oh, and I have the Pretika Sonicdermabrasion (knockoff of Clarisonic) and the LightSonic too (got it cheap from ebay).

To be honest, I hate the vibrating the LightSonic does, you can't switch it off. It definitely isn't as blindingly bright as the Lightstim, no amber lights either, which are apparently more useful for anti-aging.

As to how effective the Pretika is, I'm not sure. I only used it when I was healing from surgery as it's so compact and uses AA batteries (the AALS is AC-powered and much more expensive, didn't want to risk losing it).

Thread about the Pretika here: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=30435&highlight=pretika+lightsonic

The Lightstim one is humunguous and I'm sure you know where that one is!

Hi Tasha,

I see that you've gotten a wealth of great responses! Smile I will try not to duplicate too much what's been said. And it also sounds like maybe you've already made your decision...but just in case it helps...

I do want to add that the Ageless eye exercise has you apply resistance to the corner of the eye, not to the undereye area, which you say is your problem. Loulou says that it doesn't matter where exactly on the eye muscle (orbicularis oculi) that you apply the pressure, but I have found that it does make a fair amount of difference for me personally, as my muscle fibers nearest to where U apply the pressure tend to work the hardest.

One more option for you: the 2nd edition FlexEffect DVD (~$30) has 14 exercises, including one for the middle of the cheek and the under-eye area.

Either way, both programs are good and worth having, imo, and I am very happy with both purchases. That said, I definitely think FlexEffect is a much better program, plus for most of the exercises, I prefer the FlexEffect version over the Ageless version, as I feel I can work my muscles harder with the former.

HTH Smile
