I am really sorry for asking so many questions.. I do realise that there is a LOT of information on emu oil on this forum because when I searched it 319 pages came up
So I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before, please don't be mad.
Does anybody have any experience with emu oil and acne prone skin? My skin is very sensitive and rather dry, not too oily (my nose does get shiny during the day, though).
if you have used it, what was your experience with it? What is your regimen? Where did you purchase your emu oil?
Thank you, and sorry again if this has been asked before.

I found that emu oil actually made my skin drier, and I do not use it on a daily basis anymore. However, I do use it (mixed with tamanu oil) periodically for it's anti-inflammatory benefits.
Jojoba oil is great for oily or acne prone skin, and is used heavily in the 302 Skincare line (which made my skin very plump and moisturized).
Garden of Wisdom sells many of the carrier oils, though I bought my emu oil from LB Processors. |

Thanks for replying, bethany.
My skin is actually never quite happy with Jojoba oil. It breaks me out.
Did you use it on blemishes? |

I meant if you use the Emu Oil on blemishes. Sorry, wasn't quite clear. |

I know lots of people like emu oil but it didn't work for me. I got little clogged pores when I used it. It may work for you though. Jojoba doesn't work for me either. |

I prefer Tamanu oil on blemishes...it is antibacterial and very anti-inflammatory, and will take the red out of a zit for me overnight. But it's green and smells a bit like soy sauce, so if I want to use it on my whole face, I mix it 50/50 with emu oil. |

Thanks for the info, ladies.
So, if I try Emu Oil (haven't heard of tamanu before so will have to go and research that) I can use it just like a moisturiser, right? I mean rather than in OCM and as a spot treatment. |

Correct, though I personally can't recommend using it in that manner. |

Hm, so when you mix the two oils together do you just use it as a moisturiser or do you use it for OCM only? |

I only use emu/tamanu mixture when my face is inflammed/irritated for some reason (like sunburn, overdid it with my microfiber cloth, etc.).
Or I use it to help an active penetrate (like hair growth actives on my scalp). But I no longer use it as a moisturizer because it made my skin feel far drier...my mother and sister had the same result as I did. |

Thanks for the info, bethany. I'm trying to control dryness and acne, which i think might come from insufficient hydration So I guess drying out my skin more might not be a good idea.. Oh well, I'll give it a try and see if it helps. |
