I've heard people mention using botox early to prevent wrinkles to avoid having to cure them later on.

But for those who want to stay away from injectables is it wise to start using products like syn ake and argireline before you have any wrinkles?

The reason i ask is because i heard long term use of argireline or syn ake can actually be bad for skin. Does anyone know if this is true?

Any long term users out there whose skin has suffered from using these?

Are these products good for people who don't have wrinkles yet?

I know some say botox would be much worse because it's being injected, but the way i understand it botox only targets certain muscles so only those are paralysed, the ones that act to keep the face taut in a good way would not be frozen and so keep their strength. You wouldn't have the same choice with a cream.

What are your experiences?

I do think prevention is important. There are mixed thoughts if Botox really prevents wrinkles. And if you start young, before you really need, its going to be one expensive habit over a life time, as you will need to continue with it to keep the result.

For prevention I would stick the proven basics: antioxidant serums and sunscreen. Adding in retin-a is also an excellent option.

Here a good ingredient description of Argireline:

One "targets" Botox by choosing the site of injection so you know exactly which muscles you are "paralizing".

But the skin is not kept taut by acting muscles but just by the mere fact that the skin is attached to the muscles, even if they don't move.

If you ever come accross someone with chronic Bell's palsy or someone who had a stroke as a young person, you'll see that the paralyzed side looks less wrinkled and younger.
