Hi everyone, as the subject suggests, I am looking for a gentle, organic cleanser.
My skin is dry, yet acne-prone. Most products end up being too harsh for my skin or break me out It's quite a predicament.
I don't want to put harsh chemicals on my skin, anymore. So I would prefer something organic, natural.
Can anybody recommend something?
Thank you |

I would go with Riley's recommendation, she just had a sensitive, irritated skin experience! |

Thanks DM and rileygirl! As always, you are both very helpful.
Rileygirl, would you recommend any particular cleanser by Evan Healy?
I have never heard of them but am now reading up on here.
Have you guys heard of Earth Science? They seem to get rave reviews.. |

The only cleanser I have used from Evan Healy is her Blue Lavender cleansing milk. I used to have normal, very tough skin, but now I believe I have rosacea, and my skin is more sensitive to things (this sensitivity has improved with a combination of things). If you are interested in the EH products, I would definitely shoot off an email to them and see what they recommend for your skin type. They are very helpful.
I have heard of Earth Sciences, but I have not tried their products. |

Thanks, guys!
I just won the EDS gift certificate
So now I am tempted to buy something organic from EDS!
Have you ever tried any of the organic lines they carry? I have used the juice beauty blemish serum but was not impressed. |

I used the Earth Science clarifying cleanser and liked it quite well. It had a slight off smell to me. I am trying Derma E fruit smoothee cleanser and am loving it right now. It has a pH of about 5.8 and seems gentle. |

Hi kpka. I think she has one for acne prone skin. I would take a look at the website and/or email her and see what she recommends if you are interested in the products. Good luck if you try them! |

Have you tried the Extreme Cleansing Gel? If not, search for it. It's all natural and is a great cleanser for all skin types. |

One of the most gentle skin cleansers that I've ever tried was Cetaphil. I love it. It cleanses the skin, gets all the make up off, and doesn't leave my skin super dry like most other face washes. Not sure if it's organic but I can guarantee you that it's a gentle product. |

Do you use the one for all skin types or for normal to oily? |

Just rubbing oil and wash off with a warm cloth... very organic. Similar to Oil Cleansing Method. The warm water in the cloth -preferably a microfiber cloth- takes away any oil that may be left. I can't think of a more organic way of cleansing the skin. |

If you have acne-prone skin you could try cleansers with BHA (salicylic acid) combined with antioxidants and natural ingredients. Try the link below

The Clarifying Cleanser by SKIN1 seems to be a hot item while the Pure Cleansing Gelee by Luzern Laboratories got 5 star reviews from all users. Both are for all skin types. |

Have you thought of oil cleansing (OCM)? I know there are a lot of threads about it on EDS. I have extremely sensitive, rosacea skin. After only two weeks, my dermatologist thought my skin looked the best it had been in the ten years I'd been going to him. Good enough that he decided to do it to see if he should suggest it to other patients. I'm a new member, so wasn't allowed to link the website, but it's just called theoilcleansingmethod. |

I use right now the Triple Lavender Face Foam from NaturDerm. i buy it from EDS.
I have sensitive skin, oily but dry skin. I like to use water in my cleansing and this one doesn't dry out my skin even more in any way. Really good to cleanse make-up. Organic, all natural, no silicones, parabens and hypoallergenic.
"It contains a host of yummy ingredients with a long historical use of healing effects on the skin. Not one, but a blend of three types of lavender, which according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, human clinical studies have shown lavender to be both an antibacterial and antiviral agent with benefits to the skin from conditions such as fungal infections, closed wounds and injuries, eczema and acne." |

My favorite one is Dr. Alkaitis - takes all makeup off without drying or aggravating the skin. |

I use Dudu Osun or black african soap. It is all natural and I absolutely love it.
It may be a bit drying, especially with winter coming up, but I use natural oils as moisturizer like coconut or vitamin e. i have also heard good things about olive oil. |

I really like PSF Gentle Cleansing. My skin feels clean, but soft. I'll soon have to switch to a creamier night time cleanser now that the weather has gotten colder, but I'll continue to use it in the morning.
EDS sells PSF (Pure Skin Formulations). The Gentle Cleanser is the first product I purchased from here. |
