anyone using Dermalogica skincare? Does it work for acne prone skin? I wanted to try the cleansers but the price is kind of expensive. Anyone using their cleanser? |

I find it very good for acne prone skin. They also do not contain any colouring or fragrance, so it's good for sensitive skin as well. I have used their clay cleanser and their anti-bac cleanser. I find those cleansers very good. Even though they may seem a little expensive, a little goes a long way, a bottle can last about 3-4 months. |

Hello,
First, let me say that I am not an expert on skin care, I am just giving you my own experience. Anyways, Dermalogica is an excellent skincare line, but it didn't help with my acne problem.
1) the anti-bact wash: has some acne fighting ingredients, Salicylic Acid(exfolate) and Triclosan (antibacterial)~ I don't think it kills the right bacterials that causes acne.
2) Dermal clay cleanser: quite expensive, also didn't help with acne. But if used regularly it sucks up all the extra oils in the pores (ie forhead areas). Good for an in-between mask treatment cleanser. Also has a very super tingling sensation after using it- the feeling of clean!!
3) Multi-active toner: nothing special about it.
4) Oil-control lotion: It has 1%Salicylic Acid as the main ingre. If your skin is not too oily it would be good for as a makeup base. But I think you'll need an extra moisturizer for the dryer parts.
When I use it in the summer my T-zone was still very oily. It works better for me in the winter- my skin is still oily but at least I can't fry an egg on my forhead.
Hope that halped. I am also in search of other better products. If I come across any, I'll post it.

I personally didn't like dermalogica products for my acne. I have very sensitive and reactive skin and found their cleansers too strong and the moisturizers made me break out even more. Many people have good results with their products, just not me. |

I actually had great results from it for my acne. It really cleared up. I would suggest if you are nervous to either get a kit or some samples before you use. I also worked with an esthetician on treatments to help my acne. |

I have found the Medicated Clearing Gel to be good for getting rid of existing pimples quicker or for (sometimes) stopping them from coming up (when you get that little red bump that looks like it will turn into a monster). I also find that it's not drying so it works without making the area dry and flaky.
I also have the Dermal Clay Cleanser and love the minty feeling that comes with it. It does do a good job of removing the oils from my skin, although this means that I can't use it twice daily because it'll dry me out (I've got normal skin to sometimes combo). |

I got the Dermal Clay Cleanser, and it worked really good for my skin.
I had a lot of breakouts the past month (and I mean a lot) and even a lot of congestion on my cheeks. When I tried Murad, it made it worse, from congested and oily to dry and flaky and congested. After getting a professional facial done, my packaged (for Dermal Clay Cleanser) arrived and I was hesitant to put it on my skin because my skin has gotten too sensitive, but I was glad I did. It improved the texture of my skin, it was just perfect for my oily, congested skin. Now the tiny white bumps on my cheeks are close to gone and I am very happy. (And this is just a cleanser!) I am now researching for a good (and gentle) exfoliator... |
