Hey y'all --
Has anyone tried the "Polishing Grains" from CellularSkinRX? They sound really intriguing to me -- I like the fact that you can custom mix it with a moisturizer or cleanser depending on the needs of your skin on any given day. I recently discovered the wonders of Dermalogica's Daily Microexfoliant but I've found that if I use it every day, I get red, flaky patches on the skin around my nose (I'm super-oily, but my skin is also extremely sensitive ) so I can only use it every couple of days. But I'd really prefer exfoliating every single day, so I'm wondering if these Polishing Grains might be the answer I'm looking for...? I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who's used these!
TIA,
Carrie
P.S. The company is headquartered here in Austin -- too bad they don't have a store so I could buy the product...looks like I can only order it online.... |

I have used them (with cream cleansers & also gel & milky type ones) & would definitely repurchase - maybe in a year because the purchase size is very generous. I have other exfoliants in my routine & I alternate it with them. My skin is oily, sensitive & mature & the polishing grains have been gentle & effective. |

I have been using them for about 3 weeks. I REALLY like them. They were part of the gift set, not the item I was most interested in but they have been a big hit.
I too, liked the idea of daily use, I find these really are gentle enough. AND I love using with my favorite cleansers.
I would caution though, when I first started using, I didn't avoid my eye area well enough. Think, sand in the eye type sensation........ |

I use them, too. I love mixing them with rice bran oil. Makes my face feel so soft. I've also been using them with sweet almond oil on my elbows and heels... |

that was what I was planning on doing! Do you think a coffee grinder would work?
You can get them at a wholefood store? Good, that saves me from the scary parking at the asian mall here. |

I used to use the Body Shop stuff, too. Was so disappointed when they quit carrying that product. But these are not quite the same. Much finer - more powder-fine than TBS's. Their's were grittier and I found good for the body but sometimes a bit harsh for the face. These are perfect for the face. If you grind up your own, just be careful to strain out (use a sifter)the bigger, sharper pieces. |

I've got them and I really like them! You get 4oz and this will last ages because you really don't need much. I have not tried mixing with moisturiser (sounds a bit odd) but I do mix it in with both foaming and milk cleansers. The only thing I don't like is the top of the packaging, it has a small opening that you need to cover with this twist-type wheel top (like on pepper). Only problem is that the top is *just* wide enough to cover the whole when you twist it so you need to make sure you're covering it completely (especially when you're living in a humid climate). |

Sounds a lot like the Bamboo Polishing Powder from the Body Deli (6.5 oz.). I bought this a couple of months ago and love it. I mix it with my JB Cleansing milk. A little bit goes a long way. It comes in an old fashion powdered sugar shaker. The consistency is ultra fine but exfoliates my mature skin nicely. My skin feels unbelievably smooth after using Bamboo Powder. LOVE IT!!!! I alternate this product with Dr. H. cleansing cream. |

Okay, I got my polishing grains the other day and I’m loving them! I like to exfoliate every day, but I found that if I use my Dermalogica Microfoliant on a daily basis, the skin around my nose starts to get red and flaky (I have sensitive/oily skin) so I’ve cut back to using it every other day. And then on weekends, I use the Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant and follow up with the Multi-Vit Power Recovery Mask and leave it on overnight.
I’ve been using the CSRx polishing grains on the other days. In the mornings, I use a bit of the grains mixed with my Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel (love this as a gentle, everyday cleanser!!), followed by the MB Cucumber Cleansing Lotion (aka toner) and at night, I just use the MB cleansing gel and toner and my skin has never been happier or more “radiant.” I feel the polishing grains to a good job of sloughing off the dead skin cells but it doesn’t give me the flaky red patches if I use it daily.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank all of you for pointing me in the direction of this stuff – my skin loves you for it!!
