Hi
Im looking for a sunscreen in powder form that can be used to top up sunscreen during the day. I wear makeup so if it can double as an oil control powder, that would be great. What do you recommend? I know some of you use colourscience orb. Is it a pressed powder? Any cheaper alternatives? It's kinda pricey for me.
What do you think of 100% pure healthy flawless skin foundation spf20?
ngredients:Rice Powder, all or some of the following fruit pigments: White Peach, Golden Peach, Apricot, Cocoa Bean, Papaya, Pomegranate, Cranberry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Cherry and Cabernet Grape, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Eucalyptus Leaf Powder, Vitamin A (a-palmitate), Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), Flax Seed Oil, Chamomile, Calendula, Rose, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Avocado Butter, White Tea Powder, Grape Seed Powder, may contain mica (natural shimmer mineral)
SUNSCREEN ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: 10% Titanium Dioxide and 5% Zinc Oxide |

The Orb is a loose powder that's what I have been using since spring and love it. I'm a MMU wearer also and just dust it over without any problems. Price wise it gets daily use (I have the large) since spring and I don't think I have used more than half.

How do you apply it when you're out? Dont you have to pour it in a bowl and apply? I thought pressed powder might be easier |

It's just like using loose MMU, I just tap out enough and I apply with a brush instead of the puff that comes with it. I plan on ordering a trial size to carry with, but only because it's smaller! |

I use cornstarch to "mattify" is that a word? LOL
Then apply mineral makeup which may augment sun protection (hard to be sure unless the product has been tested - some carry ratings).
I may switch to Z-cote to "mattify". I am not sure.
Attached is a list of mineral makeup companies, their ingredient list and whether or not they use micronized ingredients:

I came really close to purchase Chatecaille sunscreen powder and I really couldn't decide. I also wonder which sunscreen, liquid/cream or powder when both are on would protect my skin from the sun? |

I have brought Chatecaille sunscreen powder last month and applied it daily on the morning, the powder are so fine that make my skin looks very smooth. BUt I think I won't buy it again as the price is just to high, around USD80 for only 3g or 4g... |

faeriedust - I also would like to find a good pressed powder with SPF (ColorScience, can you hear us?). Carrying loose powder around and re-applying it is messy. |

Hopefully Colorescience is listening!!!!
Maybe we should all start emailing them? I would try their pre filled brush but 1) expensive for what you get 2) I always hate the bristles on those refillable brushes! |

I still have the mini colorscience orb that I got with my New Beauty kit many months ago. It lasts a long time. It is very easy to top up using the little puff that comes with it. I think the mini is around $10, so it is very cheap. At least it would give you a trial of it to see if you like it. I have recommended to a ton of people here on EDS. It works great. |

You are the reason I tried it Riley! You have had that a long time! I got mine here with a voucher after pondering for a while. |

Oh, I now! The price of Chantecaille is high, but the quality is great. But using both powder and liquid, which would give you protection if liquid is SPF 60 and the powder is SPF 50? |
