Has anyone tried the N-Lite Laser treatment for acne/acne scars. I am considering this and would like to hear from anyone who has tried it or has any info. There are quite a few websites (in the UK) with info on, but can it be as good as they say ??

Hi Lady Jane...

I too am very interested in N Lite treatment. I have only very mild acne but obcess a bit about it. The treatment was featured on Sky News some months back. From what I recall, they studied patients and 85% saw a significant improvement using the treatment. Very promising indeed. I have not experienced it personally, sorry. Other doctors were deeming it a likely alternative to medicines such as accutane (which ive tried myself - the acne has made a bit of a comeback unfortunately) which have harsh side effects.

You might also want to research an Oxygen facial. There doesnt appear to be much documentation on the web Sad This is a treatment in which a gun is used to blast oxygen deep into the skin and is also considered effective. Apparently Jude Law is a fan! Hope I have been of some use.

Thanks very much for your reply. I will look into the Oxygen Facials, I have heard about them, they sound really good for clearing out the skin, but I was looking for something to help with scarring.
I have booked a consultation at the Freeman Hospital's laserase unit to get more info, so I'll let you know how I get on. I must say I am a little turned off now with all the info on the web, sometimes it gets great reviews and other's say it's a waste of time. Apparantly it doesn't blast off the top layers of skin the help the scars, like re-surfacing, but it stimulates the cells underneath to produce more collegen to plump up the skin. It doesn't sound long term. Anyway I'll find out more and make a decision about whether it's worth trying.
