My younger sister has this. She's on a low estrogen high potency progestin pill that is causing acne. There is a possibility she'll have her ovary removed which will catapult her in to instant menopause since she already lost the other ovary. I worry about her. If you have or had this please post the treatment you did that resolved it. Thanks. |

I have 3 daughters who all have endometriosis. Several years ago, we were asked if they could participate in a medical study to determine why some women have this problem. It was first thought to be hereditary but that was dismissed as I never had it and many others in the study did not have a mother who had the disease. All my daughters had children and had the problem before and after childbirth. One daughter has had to have surgery to remove one ovary at age 37 but she may eventually have to have a hysterectomy. One other daughter had a hysterectomy at 40 but they left the ovaries. The study lasted for two years and no specific treatments for the disease could be found. None of my daughters are on any medication for it but do have to resort to painkillers frequently. |

I'm so not an expert on this but I'm an RN and I do research for film producers and writers and was just researching endometriosis.
I learned that it's an estrogen dependent disease that was first written about in 1920 and by 1921 there were about 20 cases in the literature. Today there are 5-7 million in north america but 80 million cases in the world.
We are way over estrogenized today because of the hormone bending substances in chemicals that are in EVERYTHING.
I've had a really long illness and coming out of it so I truly "get" the limitations of Western medicine. I tell everyone who asks me for advice to see an integrative doctor who has experience with your illness (curing it).
If you google integrative physician and your area it's usually not hard to find someone who might be able to help in a less traditional western medicine way. |

First she should ditch the fake progesterone and substitute ProGest cream or prometrium, which is natural progesterone in a capsule. She will probably notice a big difference just doing that.
I wonder if endometriosis has to do with the synthetic hormones in birth control pills. I took those pills for many years, developed endometriosis and eventually got a fibroid and had a hysterectomy. I was about the undergo a laparoscopy for the endometriosis when my chiropractor recommended an herbalist. Not just someone who knows about herbs as a hobby but a full blown certified herbalist. It took about three months, going once a month to change herbs, but the endometriosis went away. Initially, I had a lot of clotting and heavy bleeding, as if it was all being excreted due to the herbs. Then I had much lighter, smooth periods. |
