I just tried to place an order with Dermstore and found out that their shipping policies are very bad!
They had a sampler bag with a high value for "black friday" and it sounded good, so ordered that and some Supersmile mouthwash.
The mouthwash was back ordered,
So I found out that when one item is backordered they hold your whole order until that item comes in.
Now the lousy part is that by the time my item came in, the black friday deal was sold out.
Even though the email I had said "your items are being held until order complete".
I sent an email canceling my order, only to get a message that the Supersmile items were already shipped!
Not too impressed.
I then called Dermstore and was told that their computer system will not let part orders be shipped.
Stupid thing is their website says, free shipping on any item.
So, in theory they should send your order.
Customer service told me that a lot of people were complaining about this, but it won't be changed.
Dermstore just lost all my business based on this.
Other websites usually send you your items even when something is out of stock.
(and Skincarerx, last year they sent me my order with 1 item out of stock and I clled and asked if it might be easier to just cancel that item since shipping to Canada might be a lot extra for them and I could always get that item later)
Skincarerx was nice enough to send me my item all the way to Canada (was a microplane footfile).
Essential Day Spa and Skincarerx will get my money from now on! |

Dermstore had a "mysterious gift" deal months ago. They sent me a full size mask approching its expiration date as the gift. I tested on my hand and it caused redness! How can I use it on my face? They even sent samples that have already passed expiration date!
I used to buy Paul & Joe in dermstore but I'm glad skincarerx is carrying all that I want now. |

For the "mystery gift" they sent a few months ago it was a large Me Bath, bathbomb.
Have not used it yet, as I do not really use bathbombs and have sensitive skin.
Guess I'll have to buy Supersmile from either here or else QVC, as QVC ships to canada.
I really don't know how Dermstore stays in business with such lousy service.
(my other bad experience is Sephora buying online, can't buy an item with a Canadian credit card on the US site- even if the item is being sent as a gift to the US).
The advantage of Skincarerx is you can price match items, but the advantage of EDS is a better forum and items shipped from Canada.
Can't really say which one of the two I like better as I like different items from each company |

Be careful with their gift if you decide to use it one day!
Well, dermstore had some good deals like $25off$50. It's not attractive to me anymore when I knew skincarerx sell 30% or 40% off gift cards and still you can combine them with price match. The only thing I don't like about skincarerx is their website is confusing and hard to use! |

I've also had bad experiences with Dermstore; I won't order from them again. I love EDS. The service we get here is awesome.
I ordered from eskinstore.com twice because they had a product that EDS didn't carry. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but when the same thing happened the 2nd time ... I won't order from there again. Both times I ordered, they had a sale on and allowed the order to go through. BOTH times every item I ordered was supposedly out of stock. It took 6 weeks to get the items to me. I can see an item being out of stock occasionally, but every item each time?
When EDS was out of stock, I was told immediately, received an apology and the rest of my order was shipped. They told me when they expected to receive the item; received it when they said they would and shipped it. Eskinstore.com told me they were going to receive the item by a certain date. When three weeks passed and I still hadn't received the item, I sent them an email. It took a week for them to answer my email and then they told me that they hadn't received the item yet ... 6 weeks later, I finally got it in the mail. |

I didn't know that?
I did not think you could do both.
But even without price matches Derma E body lotion that I like is 75% less than in Canada,
I do agree the Skincarerx website is really bad.
There is supposed to be a feature to save favorite items and it never works.
hard to look up stuff too.
But I like how people leave real reviews.
-sephora if you write a bad review, they erease most of them (hapened to me when I said an eye cream burned my skin).
I'll have to try and find out more about the discounted gift cards, would be nice as lately some items I buy they have the lowest price...which is still kind of a lot (not items that EDS carries or else I'd get them here). |

Yes, you can do both. They will adjust the price and return the extra to your gift card.
Now skincarerx sells 20% off gift cards:
http://skincarerx.com/20-percent-off-gift-cards.html
It's not good enough... They used to sell 40% off every year. Luckily I bought some 30% off GCs earlier this year. |

But from what I was reading on the Skincarerx site, it also says you can not use the discounted certificates with promo codes?
So, I think that means when they have a 20% off code you can not use the featured discount?
Another thing I noticed from Skincarerx, is that shortly after writing a couple reviews (some good, some neutral or bad), that some extra bonus points would show up in my account.
I have no idea if this works for everyone or how they determine this.
I have not bothered to review anything there lately. |

You cannot combine gift cards with skincarerx's own promo codes, but you can purchase with your gift card and then submit a price match ticket about other online store (e.g., skinstore, drugstore, sephora, bloomingdale's,...)having promotions.
Your gift card will be refunded by the price difference. They respond quite slow now... it may take couple of weeks... But what could I complain? They offer the lowest price lol.
I have not reviewed anything at their website yet! I would probably do it sometime and see if they give me extra money:) |

I haven't reviewed anything since October I think.
But my account keeps track of how many reviews I write and it seems that it takes about a day for points to show up.
Looking back now it looks like they were giving me 50 points for most reviews.
And I remember maybe twice out of 20 times I did not see any points, but I did email them and the next day they added some points.
Hopefully they will keep on doing that.
I haven't been able to find anything on t heir site about how they award points.
Also a few times I was browsing on their site and the next day get an automated email that said "these are the items you were looking at recently...here is 50 points".
No idea what that was about.
Their website is usually very confusing, but I like that they list all ingredients. |

I had no idea that things were like this at Dermstore. I've always held the place with high regards.
Has anyone ordered from them recently, and if so, are things still like this? |
