i wish to incorporate an alpha hydroxy acid moisturiser into my routine. So i emailed the customer service to enquire on the products and she recommended no AHA as it would thin my skin further.
i was thinking of aha for brighter skin but not recommended. i was thinking about substituting with papaya enzymes to exfoliate.

which means retin a and papaya enzymes, i would be throwing out my apricot scrub.
is it ok retin a and papaya enzymes ok? or should i use aha instead? |

AHA can be tough on dry skin. I used a papaya enzyme product many years ago. I don't recall it being drying, so it might be worth a try. I really like GoW products.
I would not use the papaya enzyme and Retin a on the same nights, maybe alternate. |

You can use both but it can rather harsh on the skin.
What exactly is your goal? I know you mention brighter skin, but do you have dark spots? or does your skin just look dull? |

Have you thought about peels or microdermabrasion. I swear my skin always glows after one of these treatments  |

Definitely , just stop retina-A a few days before. If you have just started (anything less than 8 weeks) then I would wait. Also depends on how sensitive your skin is. Im not sure of your skin type.
The peel looks nice, not too strong. If in doubt and you can afford it I would also get one done professionally. They could also give you plenty of general skincare advice too. But for that "glow I prefer microdermabrasion. Even my esthetician tells me my skin loves it LOL |

are those professional ones expensive because i am on a budget.
so far i am on retin a for 2 months and my skin not yet gotten the horrible side effects people talking about.
but i could say fairly sensitive.
what about the papaya enzymes i posted in this thread? u think ok? |

I've only had experience with pumkin enzymes so cant comment on papaya. They were never effective for me. But it looks okay. But I do prefer professional peels as I find they are more effective and in the long run I save money on buying all this home stuff. I dont know where you're from so you will have to look up professional peel prices. You can even go to the DIY board for some recommended DIY peels etc....
You don't need to get side effects from retina-a in order for it to work. Side effects could mean that people have gone too far with it. I never got side effects except for a bit of dryness around the mouth. |
