Hello all,
So today, I decided to have my face threaded and get rid all of the peach fuss. Has anyone else done this? I'm concerned that I'll get ingrown hairs when the fuss comes back. I like the way it looks, but now you can see more of my hyper-pigmentation |

Yes I have my eyebrows and upper lip area threaded every 4-6 weeks depending on the growth.
I do find since switching from waxing to threading the hair grows back finer and I have to have this done less regularly than I would if I was waxing. Friends have had there underarms done and suggested I should try it, however I'm a little scared that it will hurt in this area.
Ezduzit do you preform a weekly exfoliation in your skin care regime, as I find that I haven't had a problem with ingrown hairs due to this exfoliating. If you don't exfoliate I would suggest doing this weekly to stop any ingrown hairs and you should be right.
Do you use anything for your hyper-pigmentation to lessen this and perhaps help it fade and stop more from forming?

I get my brows done and I love it!It only takes 5 minutes and you dont have to have hot wax on your face, threading is the only way to go,most malls have threading salons and its super cheap only ten bucks! |

I have less ingrown hairs when I thread, but I find that I break out more. I know, that makes no sense, but I break out everywhere I have been threaded. |

Well my face is now all broken out due to the threading!! For the hyperpigmentation I've been trying to get rid of it now for 4yrs and no nothing has helped. I tried Obagi it made it worse, I tried over the counter stuff that claim to get rid of spots and nothing. I tried Finacea didn't help. I'm so upset that everything I do to fix my face makes things worse or the same. |

I wonder if IPL would help. You need to see a good dermatologist. |

sometimes its hormonal. If you are on bc pills or are pregnant you will get it. Sun Exposure causes it in certain races like asians, blacks, and italians, mexicans etc...stay out of the sun. I never go in the sun, I got rid of mine by diligent skin care and total sun avoidance on my face. |

Not on the pill, had a hysterectomy about 5 yrs ago. I am Hispanic, and since these spots started I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible. I do wear sunscreen. I don't know what else to do. |

ezduzit have you considered using a product after having the Threading done that calms the skin and stops the bumps?
I know this is a men's product, however my OH uses this and so do I after waxing and my facial Threading. It's Dermalogica Shave Post-Shave Balm. You use this after you have shaved, however I find it works wonders for me after hair removal to soothe the redness and stop any rash or breakouts.
You apply it and wait for it to absorb before applying moisturiser etc over the top or any other products you may use.
As for the Hyperpigmentation I did suggest some products to one of the members that I use under the Dermalogica review thread. I will see if I can cut and paste the relevant info here for you. |
