Have you tested the Glominerals foundation yet? I already have the one from BE, but suspect it of drying my already dry skin out. In BE, I am a 2.3 Medium Beige, would medium golden be the right tone for me?

Yes I have. Was about to write a review for it so I'll just do it here Smile

I had a sample of the Glominerals GloLoose and decided to try it when Aurora posted a question about this the other day.

When I tried it on the night (http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=4088) I liked it but needed to wear it for a few days to make up my mind. My mind was made up quite quickly when I went to work on Friday morning and got told my two office ladies that I looked radiant. Sold! Smile I was wearing just the GloLoose in golden medium and my Jane Iredale blush.

When I apply it it still feels dry after a few minutes (just like the Jane Iredale pressed) but after I spray it with the JI hydration mist to set it then it's fine for the whole day - no dryness. It lasts the whole day and I had very little problems with oil (just a bit of shine on my forehead but nothing major - one of those things that you *could* touch up but you don't really look bad if you don't touch up - about the same as the JI pressed). I did get the impression that it got a little darker on my skin as the day went on though. In terms of finish and coverage I think it's very similar to my JI pressed. It's definitely less "shiny" than BE.

In JI pressed I'm a Warm Silk, in BE I vary between #1 and #1.2 (or mix of both). GloLoose Golden Medium looks way too dark for me in the pot but I can pull it off on my skin. If I were to buy a full size I would go for Golden Light though.

Bottom line - I think it's good and very similar to JI. I do prefer a pressed formulation though (less messy and much easier to apply IMO) so I'm sticking with my JI untit I finish it off. Then I might try the GloMinerals in pressed form.

Nemi - I'm not too sure about the shade for you. I think the shades are very forgiving so you might be able to go with the Golden Medium. Any chance you can try samples first?

I plan to order from EDS (of course!), but my aesthetician carries this line, so I could probably pop by to have a look at the shades. Do you think there is a big difference between the pressed and the loose version? I still have a full pot of BE here, and consider trying the pressed version of Glominerals, simply because it's practical to bring with you. But if the coverage is thicker, it's nothing for a foundation-hater like me.

Hi,

I was told by an industry insider, although, I have no definite proof that GloMinerals is like the generic version of JL. Not literally, made by the same company but industry people say that it is the same as JL only less expensive.

But the prices of GM and JI are more or less identical Question ?

Sorry if that is the case. Because she is an industry insider she pays wholesale prices and that would make sense as to why she said it is the same only less expensive.

It doesn't surprise me that they say JI is similar to GloMinerals - that was my first impression when I tried GloMinerals after using JI. I like both of them Smile

Nemi - I think in terms of coverage it still seems the same but it doesn't have that "pearly" look that BE sometimes has if you don't use the Mineral Veil afterwards. The JI and the GloMinerals both still felt like I was wearing nothing at all! Um... makeup-wise I mean!

Thank you for your review Mabsy! Now I really want to try Glominerals or JI.... But my stupid new years resolution was to buy no new products until I actually need it...I'm regretting it now Laughing
