Why does NCN recommend to NOT use the TCA peels if you get Keloid scars? Does the peel make you scar?
This sounds so scary - what is the truth?
Thanks! |

You definitely get peeling with TCA.
There is a chance it could make the scar worse if you prone to or have them. I've done it any way and it didn't effect the scar at all. |

I have also had keloid scars (from piercings) -- and I have used TCA with no problems whatsoever. Yes, the risk is that if you are prone to keloids, you could scar from the peel. I'd take it easy and not peel too deep until you know how you will react. |

Hi Birdlove, thanks. I will keep that in mind! I also have only gotten Keloids from 'sharp' cuts like incisions, but I don't need one on my face! |
