Has anyone tried DERMAdoctor's Photodynamic Therapy Sunlight-Activated Laser Lotion with SPF 30? I prefer physical sunscreens but if this really works, what a fantastic idea. Here is some of the info from the link:
------
How Does It Work?
Morinda Citrifolia Extract (Noni Fruit) contains a special polyphenol that specifically captures the sun's rays then converts and emits this energy as a highly focused visible red wavelength of light (648nm) equivalent to that of a red LED. Encapsulating this polyphenol with an inert tricalcium phosphate particle creates a complex capable of transmitting the visible red light to the skin where it works to firm the skin.
- Utilizes UV light to revitalize the skin
- Increases skin elasticity
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Improves skin tone and texture, and improves the appearance of redness, dryness, roughness, age spots, skin discoloration, pore size while restoring brightness and radiance.
Normal daily activity will activate product. Do not seek additional sun exposure. Walking the dog, taking a jog, driving to the grocery store or simply sitting in your home by the window or lamp is all the light you need to activate this formulation and keep it working throughout the day.
Clinically Proven To:
- Emit a visible red wavelength of light measured at 648nm by spectophotometer
- Continue to emit visible red wavelength of light 7 hours following initial application
- Show significant results within 1 week of use
- Increase skin elasticity 35% on average within 4 weeks
- Improve the appearance of redness, dryness, roughness, texture, tone, age spots, pore size, discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles.
In an Independent Clinical Trial – after only 4 week of use:- 96% of the participants said that their skin appeared smoother after using PDT for 4weeks
- 71% of the participants said that their skin appeared more radiant after using PDT for 4 weeks
- 71% of the participants said that their skin appeared more firm after using PDT for 4 weeks
- 63% of the participants said that their skin appeared to have a more uniformed complexion after using PDT for 4 weeks
- 50% of the participants said that their skin appeared to have less lines after using PDT for 4 weeks.

At that price, are you really going to apply enough (1/4 teaspoon for your face alone) to get the rated SPF? |

I just received mine today. I will begin tomorrow and give a review in a few weeks. In trying to find this thread, as I forgot to "watch" this topic, I found some reviews at Sephora.

I assumed the DERMAdoctor was a male which is stupid on my part. HER name is Audrey Kunin M.D. |

I am trying this since the sun is now shining in OK. I NEVER get in the sun but, since I am trying this product it has actually given me incentive to spend 20 minutes a day. I will let you know what it does to my skin. I already use Skin Bio Supercop cream. People are always shocked at my age will be 58 this year. I say go girls!!! Don't cover up your skin with makeup base, just get it glowing...nothing more appealing than healthy fresh skin. |
