Should I pick MMU foundation darker than liquid foundation?

Unlike liquid foundation, is it true that mineral makeup can look much lighter on the face compared to the color in the package? I don't have much experience with mineral makeup and can't decide on a foundation shade.

normally mineral make up is a bit of dry... oil and combination skin would like it.

In my experience, it is but there's not that much of a difference. I think it's safe to use the same shade as liquid foundation Smile Just make sure your skin type is right for MMU as the previous poster pointed out

Mineral Makeup does appear darker in the container than once it applied to the face. It's way more concentrated in there so that's the reason. Mine has never darkened on my face after application.

@DM Really? I use Jane Iredale's makeup and I almost got the darkest shade possible because I thought it matched my skin tone. However, the consultant told me that it was wayyy too dark for my skin tone so she suggested one that, in my opinion, was way lighter than what I thought I was. In the end, it worked out to look very good Very Happy

That's been my experience both with bought MMU and that which I made myself. The sample swatches are pretty accurate for me so far, but looking at my jars the colors look deeper than what it looks like once I apply. I am between light and medium, used to think medium was my coloring but find it's too deep. Smile

Well, I split the difference and ordered two shades of Jenulence because they are having a sale now. I posted a separate thread about it. Because they also sold empty sifter jars, I decided to mix up my own blend with the two shades. It's strange because one matches my neck but looks a bit too pale and the other doesn't match my neck but looks really good. Confused

So because it contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide I don't have to wear sunscreen? That would be nice, especially in the summer.
