I am now raring to go and just have a question for one of you lovely people. I am going to make the C serum, but also want to make a day cream and was wondering if I can add the following ingredients to one cream, or do I need to make different things to house the ingredients I want to use.
Matrix peptide
Argireline
Hyalluronic acid
Niacinamide
SKB
On Uk site they have a sea kelp ultramarine cream 2oz. Would this be as good as SKB and could I use it as a base.
Thank you |

That ultramarine is quite thick and tends to form lumps when mixed with other ingredients. It's also not particularly moisturizing and leaves a film on the face that later flakes off. You are better off to buy an actual cream if thats what you want.
Hyaluronic acid also thickens formulations dramatically so must be added to a very liquid base. As for the other actives, I have no idea.
If you just want to add actives to a base cream then buy a ready made cream either from this uk supplier or your local chemist. The sensitive skin range creams in chemists are usually perfect for that, having no active ingredients of their own. |

I am just posting for first time but I am a HUGE fan of SKB but they differ from here to there and yonder, in price and quality. I've found the best price, best quality and excellant knowledgable customer support at Skin Essentials Actives. I don't know if I can post links. But this is my constant source for SKB. I've been using it in my formulations for several months now. No flaking or gumming up any bottles or anything.
Hope that helps. |

Hello and Welcome Beckeydorn,
You can't post links yet, but will after a
number of posts. Thought I would post it for you and will add it to the DIY section here.

Thanks for bringing the site to our attention, it's a fairly new site but I see some very reasonable prices there. Nice to know they have such excellent customer service. |

You can, add them to a non acidic base cream. However the sea kelp might leave a film over the skin, so try mixing it into a toner, that way you can apply all the ingredients, without any inconvenience. |
