Hello ,
I need some advice. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on a jesners peel combined with a tca peel (home peels) I'm currently using 15% tca only. I wanted to combine it with a jesners peel but i dont know how to combine the two or if it will work on fine lines. I was considering moving up to 18% tca peel but thought of trying the 15% jesners combo first. How long would i leave the jesners on be-4 applying the tca & then how long would i leave the whole thing on for and how many layers of each. I also use retin a prior to the tca peels. If anyone has any advice or any other suggestions they would be welcomed. Thank You |

I just did a peel last week using professional products I use at work. I cleansed and de-greased then did one pass of modified (14%) Jessners. Waited about 5 minutes then did 3 layers of low pH TCA 7%/S.A. 2%. 5 minutes in front of a fan between each pass. Last layer was 4% retinol. These were left on the skin with no moisture added until the next morning. This was Tuesday afternoon, by Thursday morning I was peeling heavily around the mouth/chin, with the sides of the face and forhead the next day. Today I'm still flaky but most of the peeling is done.
I'm not sure about the high percentage peels you're using, since they are for home use I am imagining that they're a bit higher pH than the ones I used. Hopefully others will chime in with advice.
All the best! |

I did a jesner's + 15% TCA at home on tuesday. It was my second ever peel, last time I only did TCA so this was my first time doing the combo. I tried to follow the instructions so I put Jesners on all over, let it sit for 90 seconds then put on the TCA but only on the areas I wanted to peel most (cheek bones, middle of forehead, chin) and waited another 90 seconds before I washed it all off.
Because I didn't notice a difference when I washed it off, I did it again right away, this time leaving on each layer 2.5 minutes. This time I got frosting on my cheeks.
I finished peeling today. My skin mostly peeled where I put TCA, barely anywhere that only had jesner's.
I feel like the instructions are overly conservative, they say never to leave on the chemicals for more than 3 minutes, but it sounds like people normally let it sit for a lot longer than that! I think I will go for 5 minutes next time, so make sure I get a medium depth peel because I feel im not acheiving anything close to that.
but i guess everyone's skin is different. I would stick to 15% TCA until you know the impact of adding jessner's will be. better safe than sorry! |
