My husband has been a smoker for 15 years. He smokes a pack a day. He wants to quit but finds it very difficult. I was thinking of seeking a naturopathic doctor and starting him with acupuncture treatments. What are ways that you quit smoking? |

Hi BCgirl,
I quit smoking 7 years ago. My husband joined me few months later.
It is very easy once you decide for yourself - this is what you want ! BUT you must know why exactly you want to quit.
It shouldn't be hard to find your perfect excuse. Too expensive, want to be healthier, want to leave longer, want to stop coughing, don't want your kids to see you smoking,
don't like the taste in your mouth, etc.
For me it was a realization that it is absolutely stupid to expect my body to be in a good health and shape while poisoning it on a regular basis.
The main part is to replace it with something else. I never realized before i quit how much time i've been spending on smoking every day.
You need to fill this time with something else, which is not eating preferably (as many people usually do).
Gum is very helpful - the regular one with no sugar.
I hope this helps.
Good luck |
